Egypt and Saudi Arabia called for an urgent meeting of the Arab League Council to discuss the dangerous situation in Sudan.

Yesterday, Khartoum and other Sudanese cities witnessed clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, which led to human and material losses, in light of international calls to stop the fighting.

HM King visits US Naval Support Facility; affirms solid bilateral strategic relations

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, today visited the US Naval Support Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

HM the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, delivered a statement in which he lauded the strategic friendship relations between the two countries, and the ongoing coordination between them to safeguard security and peace across the region.

HM the King affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to strengthen its relations with The United States in a way that would achieve global security and peace.

HM the King was accompanied by the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), Commander-in Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, Major-General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Royal Guard Special Force Commander, Colonel HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Upon arrival, HM the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, was welcomed by the Commander of the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) and 5th Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Charles Bradford Cooper, US Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Steven Bondy, and Commander of the Royal Bahrain Naval Force.

HM the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, was given the marine military salute, and then the national Anthem was played.

HM the King shook hands with the affiliates of the US 5th Fleet, and expressed thanks and appreciation to the NAVCENT and 5th Fleet commanders for their invitation.

HM the King, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, was briefed about military cooperation between the two countries, as well as their humanitarian operations, along with other countries, to secure the freedom of navigation and smooth maritime trade flow in the region and the world.

His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club High Committee (REHC), today issued edicts appointing the following directors at the REHC:

– Ebrahim Faisal Mohammed Al-Malki, Director of the Communications Directorate

– Maryam Mohammed Nema Mahmood, Director of the Services and Information Systems Directorate

– Aisha Ali Nasser Al-Nasser, Director of the Financial Resources Directorate

– Abdulrahman Khalifa Saad Bukhammas, Director of Studbook Directorate

China launches new meteorological satellite

China on Sunday morning launched a Long March-4B rocket to place a new meteorological satellite in space.

The rocket blasted off at 9:36 a.m. (Beijing Time) from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China and soon sent the Fengyun-3 07 satellite into its preset orbit.

The satellite will provide services for weather forecasting, disaster prevention and mitigation, climate change response and ecological conservation, as stated in Xinhua News Agency.

The mission marked the 471st flight of the Long March carrier rockets, according to the launch center.

ENEMY CROSSES BARBED WIRE IN KHALLET AL-GHAMIKA IN AITAROUN

An Israeli enemy force crossed the barbed wire fence in the ‘Khalet al-Ghamika’ area of ????the border town of Aitaroun, and threw several smoke bombs towards the Lebanese side, as the town’s farmers were planting tobacco seedlings.

PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION LEFT FOR WASHINGTON TO HOLD MEETINGS WITH IMF, WORLD BANK

A Lebanese parliamentary delegation, which included MPs Fouad Makhzoumi, Ghassan Skaf, Elias Stephan, Elias Hanaksh and Adib Abdel-Masih, left Beirut this afternoon, heading to Washington. The delegation will hold meetings with officials of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and members of Congress. The delegation will also participate in a series of lectures for officials in the US administration. This visit will last until upcoming Thursday.

ARAB LEAGUE HOLDS EMERGENCY MEETING OVER SUDAN

The Arab League held an emergency meeting on Sunday to discuss the recent developments in Sudan. Clashes erupted on Saturday between the Sudanese military and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The military and RSF have been competing for power as political factions negotiate forming a transitional government after a 2021 military coup. Egypt’s representative called for an immediate ceasefire in Sudan, underscoring the strategic and geographical relations between both countries. Obaida el- Dandarawy Deputy Permanent Representative of Egypt said that despite any differences in points of view that may arise at various stages, ‘there is no doubt’ that Egypt’s interests are intertwined with those of Sudan, and vice versa. ‘Egypt assures its commitment to supporting and [ensuring] stability in Sudan and the unity of its land and it assures the importance to prevent the interference of exterior forces in Sudanese affairs,’ the representative said, calling on the warring sides to find common ground and settle differences.
