MSX Gains 34 Points

Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) general index (30) today gained (34) points, comprising a rise by (0.72%) to close at (4752.04) points, compared to the last session, which stood at (4718.08) points.

The trading value today stood at (RO 1,519,226), comprising a drop by (40.3%), compared to the last session, which stood at (RO 2,543,925).

The report released by MSX pointed out that the market value went up by (0.469%) to reach about (RO 23.86) billion.

The report added that the value of shares bought by non-Omani investors reached (RO 322,000), comprising (21.16%). The value of shares sold by non-Omani investors reached (RO 162,000), comprising (10.68%). The net non-Omani investment increased by (10.49%) to (RO 159,000).

OPAZ Holds workshop on Supply, Cold Chains Initiative in Economic, Free and Industrial Zones

The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) held a workshop on the Supply and Cold Chains Initiative. The event was participated by specialists from the National Program for Economic Diversification, the National Employment Program (NEP) and the Industrial Innovation Academy (IIA).

The workshop aims to promote integration between large investments and supplier projects in the supply and cold chains, and create opportunities for new industries that contribute to economic diversification. It also reviewed the infrastructure and logistical factors available in economic zones, free zones and industrial zones.

A team from the Ministry of Economy and the Academy of Industrial Innovation provided an overview on studying economic diversification in cold chains in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm as a first stage and circulating it to the other zones at a later stage.

The seminar discussed opportunities to enhance this study including additional capabilities that enhance the diversification of manufacturing industries in the fish sector and boost the local added value achieved from those projects and the highly competitive investment milieu provided by the Authority in the areas under its supervision.

With Oman’s Participation, Arabian Travel Market Kicks off

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, is taking part in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), which kicked off today in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The event includes 2,000 exhibitors and about 34,000 participants from more than 150 countries.

Oman’s pavilion in the four-day event includes 21 companies and establishments from the tourism sector.

Arabian Travel Market is held this year under the theme “Working Towards Net Zero”. It includes several discussion sessions focusing on the luxury travel sector. Experts in the sector gather to discuss the most prominent trends, challenges and opportunities.
