Iraqi Airways To Resume Direct Flights To Georgia Next Month

The Iraqi Airways announced the resumption of direct flights between Baghdad and Tbilisi (Republic of (Georgia), as of the ninth of next June.

The Iraqi Airways said, in a press release today, Friday, that the service of issuing entry visas to Georgian lands will be exclusively for travelers on board its air fleet.

Bahrain celebrates International Nursing Day

The Kingdom of Bahrain today marks the International Nursing Day, observed annually on May 12.

The 2023 edition is being held under the theme “Our Nurses. Our Future.”, ushing in a global campaign on how nursing in the future should address global health challenges and improve global health for everyone.

The annual occasion aims to highlight the nursing staff’s contributions and initiatives in serving all patients and members of society within the framework of achieving the goals of comprehensive health coverage.

It also sheds lights on the importance of developing the future of the nursing profession in the world, and educating health care officials about the rights of male and female nurses.

This year’s theme embodies the attention attached to the nursing staff and the important and vital role in providing care for all and enhancing health services.

It is also provides a window to highlight their achievements and initiatives in developing the nursing profession despite the challenges and difficulties they face.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Health stressed the importance of supporting the nursing staff, providing opportunities to keep abreast of scientific developments and developments, encouraging training, specializations and new skills, and investing in this sector .

Industry Minister meets South Korean Vice SMEs and Startups Minister

The Minister of Industry and Commerce Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, met South Korean Vice SMEs and Startups Minister Cho Joo-hyun in Seoul.

The meeting, which was held in the presence of a number of officials from both sides, was within the official visit of a Bahraini high-level business delegation to South Korea.

Fakhro stressed the importance of the SMEs, which are supported by the Government, underlining cooperation to benefit from the South Korean expertise in developing this vital sector and building various bilateral partnerships.

Bahraini-South Korean investments to grow: BCCI Second Vice-Chairman

Second Vice-Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Mohammed Abduljabbar Al-Koheji, has stressed the importance of strengthening partnership between the Bahraini and South Korean business sectors, towards broader horizons at all levels, calling for investing in the promising opportunities and projects available in both countries.

Al-Kooheji is a member of the high-level Bahraini economic delegation, currently on an official visit to South Korea.

During the visit of the Bahraini delegation to a number of international ICT companies in South Korea, such as LG and NAVER, BCCI Second Vice-Chairman asserted that the Bahraini-Korean trade cooperation is slated for more growth, praising the progress boom witnessed by the Republic of Korea across various fields, including economic development, technology, education and medicine.

While participating in the Korea-Bahrain Business Forum for Investment, Al-Kooheji informed South Korean officials and investors about the available opportunities, calling for the need to take advantage of them to increase the volume of bilateral trade exchange.

He indicated that the available opportunities are promising in various sectors, especially in light of the facilities offered by the Kingdom, as part of its vision to advance investment in the public and private sectors.

The meetings shed light on practical initiatives that could enhance trade relations and the flow of bilateral investment.

European stocks close higher

European stocks rose today after the strong results of the Richemont Group boosted the performance of the luxury goods sector.

Investors are also assessing inflation data in France and Spain in search of clues about the European Central Bank’s plans to raise interest rates.

Shares of luxury goods group Richemont climbed 7.5% after its full-year results to the end of March showed operating profit rose to an all-time high of 5.031 billion euros ($5.491 billion).

Sales at the Swiss firm also hit a new record of 19.9 billion euros, ahead of estimates.

HM King deputises HH Shaikh Khalid to attend Royal Windsor Horse Show

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has deputised the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, General Sports Authority Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to attend the Royal Windsor Horse Show, currently held here, in the presence of Bahraini Ambassador to the UK, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.

On the occasion, HH Shaikh Khalid affirmed the strength and steady growth of the long-standing Bahrain-UK relations, in light of HM King Hamad’s vision, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which contributed to bolstering bilateral cooperation at all levels.

HH Shaikh Khalid stressed the importance of the Royal Windsor Horse Show which bears witness to the historical and unique bilateral sports relations, thanks to the constant follow-up of HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

He praised the outstanding participation of the Royal Endurance Team in the Royal Windsor Horse Show, and the distinguished performance of its jockeys, wishing them further success.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad was keen to attend the show, supporting Bahraini riders and giving them directives, which motivated them to lead the first stages of the 100-km, 120-km and 160-km races.

HH Shaikh Khalid also met a number of British personalities, and reviewed with them the solid bilateral relations, as well as the need to further strengthen them in various fields, especially sports.

LMRA, NPRA, Southern Police Directorate conduct joint inspection campaign

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) conducted a joint inspection campaign in the Southern Governorate, in coordination with the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) of the Ministry of Interior and the Southern Governorate Police Directorate.

The campaign resulted in reporting a number of violations related to the Labour Market and Residency laws and were referred for legal action.

LMRA stressed its commitment to report any violation through a continuous and intensive inspection plan, in cooperation with the relevant government entities.

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority renewed its call on all members of the society to support the efforts of government agencies to address illegal labour practices, calling on the public to report violations by filling the electronic form on LMRA’s website www.lmra.gov.bh or calling the authority’s call centre on 17506055.
