Vian Sabri: The Budget Problems Have Been Resolved, And Approval Will Take Place Soon

The head of the Parliamentary Bloc of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Vian Sabri, confirmed: Parliament will approve the federal budget soon.

She told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the budget will be approved during the current month, since the political forces in the State Administration Alliance stressed the importance of passing it during this month.

Sabri added: All problems of the federal budget have been resolved in general and the approval will be according to what was agreed upon.

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Shakhwan Abdullah confirmed today in a statement: The Finance Committee is scheduled to complete its final report on the draft federal budget law for the years 2023, 2024 and 2025, and a vote on the federal budget law will take place this week.

Abdullah added: The House of Representatives will hold a special session to approve and pass the general budget law, because it is an important law and citizens in all governorates of Iraq are waiting for it.

A Terrorist Network, Consisting Of Four, Has Been Dismantled In Diyala

The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency at the Ministry of Interior announced the dismantling of a terrorist network consisting of four elements in Diyala that provided support to ISIS terrorists and provided them with food, money and other supplies.

It stated in a statement: Four accused members of ISIS terrorist gangs were arrested who were providing support to ISIS terrorist hideouts in Diyala, as their plans and movements that posed a security threat to the province were aborted, noting that the investigation was conducted with them under the supervision of the judiciary and legal measures were taken against them.

19 Suspects, Including Terrorists, Arrested In Six Governorates

The Military Intelligence announced the arrest of (19) suspects, including terrorists, in six provinces.

It stated in a statement: According to accurate intelligence information of departments and divisions of the Basra and Karbala Operations Command and the 8th, 10th, 15th and 17th divisions of the Military Intelligence Directorate, tight ambushes were set up in the provinces (Baghdad, Basra, Nineveh, Anbar, Kirkuk and Karbala) resulting in the arrest of (3) terrorists wanted by the judiciary in accordance with the provisions of Article 4. Terrorism in Habbaniyah district in Al-Ankur area, the martyr Sabhan checkpoint and Al-Awsja area.

It added: (16) accused of various legal cases were arrested in the districts of Mahmoudiya, Musayyib, Ramadi Island, Qurna, Altun Kobri, Al-Huwair, and Al-Karak village.

Saudi Stock Exchange Main Index ends trading lower at 11348 points

Saudi Stock Exchange’s main index ended trading lower today, losing 44.35 points to close at 11348.43 points.

The total value of trading reported was SAR 4.5 billion, while the total number of shares traded was 154 million.

The Saudi Parallel Market Index (NOMU) ended the day by losing 866.48 points to close at 20,397.31 points, with a valuation of SAR 55.8 million and an overall tally of more than 470,000 stocks.

Mumtalakat CEO Meets Saudi Minister of Investment

Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat) Chief Executive Officer Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa met Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid A. Al-Falih, during his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The two sides explored new areas of cooperation with Saudi Arabia’s sovereign investment institutions, as well as investment opportunities within Mumtalakat’s portfolio companies.

Their highlighted their roles and contributions to the national economy by operating in leading economic sectors and supporting local employment.

Shaikh Abdulla emphasised the significant role of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council in strengthening the economic ties between the two countries, which contributes to the fulfilment of the leadership’s vision and objectives in both kingdoms.

Mumtalakat holds stakes in over 50 companies with a portfolio spanning a variety of sectors, including industrial manufacturing, financial services, telecommunications, real estate, logistics, consumer products, healthcare and education.

Information Minister praises award’s role in developing journalism

Minister of Information Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al-Noaimi has asserted that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, accords great importance to freedom of expression and journalism, within the framework of the national fundamentals.

Speaking to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), on the sidelines of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism ceremony, which was held today, the Minister of Information expressed honor in HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s patronage of the award. He affirmed that the award reflects keenness of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to support journalism and its key development role. He also commended the approach of HM the King in supporting Bahrain press.

The Minister of Information congratulated BNA on its photographer Yousif Tulefat’s winning of the “Best Photography Award” in the seventh edition of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism. He expressed keenness on continuous development of the award to boost competition to deliver the best.

Bahrain News Agency wins Best Photography Award

Bahrain News Agency (BNA) won the “Best Photography Award” in the seventh edition of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism, which was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Photographer Yousif Tulefat from BNA took the photo of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Holiness Pope Francis during the latter’s visit to Bahrain in November 2022.

The photo, which documents a historical event, affirms the vision of coexistence and peace advocated by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
