5-magnitude earthquake recorded in Cyprus – says JSO

Amman– A 5-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale hit Cyprus, on Friday, according to The Jordan Seismological Observatory (JSO), Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.

JSO Director Ghassan Sweidan said the earthquake occurred at a depth of 45 km and 15 km east of the capital Nicosia.

He added that the earthquake recorded in Cyprus is about 370 km away from the Jordanian borders.
