A joint security force launched today, Friday, a large-scale security operation in western Nineveh Governorate.
A statement by the Popular Mobilization Media stated, “The forces of the 33rd Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces, the 16th Division of the Iraqi army, and the operations and intelligence departments of the Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces, launched at dawn today, Friday, a wide security operation to search the mountains of Adayah, the quarries of Ain al-Jahsh, and the strategic road towards the west of Nineveh Governorate.”
The statement indicated that “the operation aims to impose security and stability in the west of the province, dry up the sources of terrorism and destroy its hideouts.”
