Al-Mandalawi: Increasing the salaries of retirees and reducing the loan deduction rate is the only way to improve their economic situation

Baghdad The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, affirmed that the only way to improve the living conditions of the retirees is through increasing pension salaries, as well as reducing the monthly deductions for the interests of advances and loans by banks operating under the authority of the Central Bank, calling on the Council of Ministers to vote on these recommendations for the coming period.

A statement from his office stated that this came during his meeting in his office today, Sunday, with representatives of the retirees, to discuss their demands, stressing that it is considered a priority for the work of the House of Representatives, as well as the government platform that the House of Representatives voted for the current government’s action plan.

Al-Mandalawi mentioned, during official addresses, addressed to the Prime Minister and the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, the need to work to improve the living conditions of retirees, whose salaries have not undergone any changes for a long time, and that the current economic changes and the increase in the cost of living caused by inflation as a result the low price of the Iraqi dinar requires everyone to resort to quick measures to ensure a decent life for all citizens, including retirees.

The first Deputy Speaker of the Parliament called for direct inclusion of retirees who had not previously benefited from the distribution of residential plots in order to achieve justice among those charged with a public service, and the inclusion of the retirees in the health insurance law, as they are more in need of health care.
