Al-Mandalawi: The official holidays law aims to highlight occasions related to the lives and feelings of the Iraqi people


The Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, confirmed that the draft law on official holidays, which Parliament voted on, aims to highlight occasions related to the lives and feelings of the Iraqi people, and to organize official holidays in the country, stating: ‘The law is comprehensive for all holidays, occasions and festivals.’

Al-Mandalawi said while chairing Council Session No. (26) for today, Wednesday: ‘The Presidency of the House of Representatives gave special attention to the draft law on public holidays, and was keen to make Dhul-Hijjah 18 a public holiday, due to the symbolism of Al-Ghadir Day for the majority of Iraqis, and what the position of the Emir of Believers represents a great place for our Muslim people. ”

The Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives congratulated all Iraqis on the approval of the law, which includes holidays and occasions for all components of society, while he thanked the relevant parliamentary committees for their efforts in bring
ing it to fruition, and to the MPs who voted on the law.
