Al-Sadr appreciates the efforts of MPs in approving Eid al-Ghadir holiday

The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, appreciated the efforts of MPs in approving Eid al-Ghadir holiday.

Al-Sadr said in a blog post: ‘With the efforts of the people of the country and the people of the Imami-Jaafari school of thought, and even all fair-minded Sunnis and even our brothers in the homeland from other religions, Kurds and nationalities, the votes were taken by the MPs of the Iraqi parliament with thanks for (al-Ghadir Day holiday). The Greatest Eid of God is an Iraqi national holiday.’

He added: “It has become obligatory for all Iraqis, especially members of the Shiite nationalist movement, to go to the mosques to pray two rak’ahs of thanks to God Almighty, raising al-Ghadir flag and wearing the green scarf.

And raising the three testimonies from their Manarats:

I bear witness that there is no god but Allah

I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God

I bear witness that Ali is the guardian of God

And all of this in the nearest mosque possible, without violating oth
ers or mosque officials. If you are told to go back, then go back.

He stressed the strict prohibition of firing firearms.
