Al-Sudani meets a French delegation and stresses the importance of cooperation with the help of Paris in recovering stolen Iraqi funds and contributing to developing the capabilities of investigators in the Integrity Commission / Expanded

Baghdad Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani received today, Thursday, the French President’s Special Envoy for the Middle East and North Africa, Patrick Dorrell, and his accompanying delegation.

The delegation carried a message from French President Emmanuel Macron to the Prime Minister, which included stressing the importance of bilateral relations and seeking to develop cooperation and partnership between the two countries.

It also included an invitation to Al-Sudani to visit France, which Al-Sudani promised to meet as soon as possible.

The meeting stressed the need to continue mutual cooperation in accordance with the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries.

In this regard, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of cooperation with the French side in helping to recover stolen Iraqi funds, and contributing to developing the capabilities of investigators at the Integrity Commission, as well as cooperation in the field of supporting the health sector in Iraq.

And Dorrell, for his part, confirmed France’s participation in the (Baghdad Summit) to be held in Jordan at the end of this year, and confirmed that French President Emmanuel Macron intends to visit Iraq soon.
