Al-Sudani: Women represent the first moral deterrent in the family in the fight against corruption

Baghdad Prime Minister Muhammad Al-Sudani affirmed that women represent the first moral deterrent in the family in the fight against corruption.

A statement by his media office stated that the Prime Minister inaugurated this morning a conference launching the 16 days campaign to combat violence against women.

According to the statement, Al-Sudani delivered a speech at the opening of the conference in which he focused on adopting a strategy to combat violence against women, and the importance of the role that Iraqi women play in achieving sustainable development, and the transition to the actual reality of services and economic conditions, and therefore this role requires protection and care.

He said, “We are determined to confront any violence committed against women, under any title, and in any corner of society, and to confront them through a strong and sustainable legal and social stance, with a clear and tangible impact.”

He added, “Our position was clear that women’s seats should be present in the ministerial council and in sovereign positions. We also strive in various positions and competencies.”

He continued, “The strategy to combat violence against women has drawn a practical approach, through its axes, in prevention, protection, interventions and legal prosecution. addressing women “Our mission with you is to transform these paths into legal and social applications that the state adopts with its institutions, as well as all social and cultural organizations and civil society organizations support them.”

He said: “When we talk about creating job opportunities and combating unemployment, women’s work advances in importance, and when we talk about reducing poverty rates, the management of Iraqi women and the coherence of their social decisions is the first threshold.”

He added, “When we talk about providing services, what women feel and what they are satisfied with will pass positively to the family, and when we talk about economic reform, I do not see any reform decision away of the woman’s affair.”

He continued: “In the matter of combating corruption, we find women the first moral deterrent in the family before any measure taken by the government. There is no talk about the sacrifices of the martyrs without the presence of the woman who is the greatest giver , sacrifice and the first supporter.”

He stressed that all support is not only for efforts to combat violence against women, but also to empower and protect them socially from all negatives, and this is what we have determened to do.
