AlUla, AlUla Pavilion has won the Best Sustainable Pavilion award at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai. The event included 2,844 participating pavilions. This award is a testament to AlUla’s commitment to applying the highest standards of sustainability, which is reflected in the innovative design of its pavilion. The environmentally friendly pavilion embraces the “AlUla Green Initiative 2024” slogan, which emphasizes the importance of every effort, no matter how small, in achieving a more sustainable future. AlUla, a luxury heritage destination, used environmentally friendly materials such as wood and recycled metal, which were obtained from local suppliers, to manufacture the pavilion.
Additionally, energy-efficient lighting systems and advanced waste management systems were installed to significantly reduce the environmental impact while fully adhering to sustainability standards.
The pavilion also features digital content instead of paper materials, as well as many reusable parts such as furniture, fra
mes, and steel floors.
All reusable pavilion parts can be collected in one transportation platform, reducing the carbon rate resulting from transportation. Other eco-friendly measures included using environmental paint and MDF panels that do not contain added formaldehyde.
