Cairo, August 3, 2022, SPA – The Arab League has welcomed a decision to extend the truce in Yemen for two more months.
Spokesperson for the Arab League Secretary General Jamal Rushdi, in a statement today, noted that extending the truce is a good news for millions of Yemenis, highlighting the importance of all parties to commit to the truce items in the upcoming stage and the significance of enhancing the work of the Special Envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations to Yemen in reaching an expanded and sustainable truce agreement.
The spokesperson stressed that the continuity of the truce provides the required momentum for the political process and for proceeding with negotiations as a sole path to address the Yemeni crisis.
