Arab Parliament Calls for Permanent Ceasefire in Sudan

The Arab Parliament has called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Sudan to stop the bloodshed and restore security and stability to the country.

This came in a statement issued today, by the plenary session of the Arab Parliament on the latest developments in Sudan in the recent period, where the Parliament affirmed its keenness to support the security, stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Sudan, which represents a major part of Arab national security.

The statement emphasized the unity of the Sudanese territory and its army and called for the parties to return to the framework agreement to restore the peaceful track and achieve a political and final solution to the Sudanese crisis that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people.

The Arab Parliament urged the international community and donors to provide urgent medical and economic assistance to Sudan.

The Parliament appreciated the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in evacuating their citizens, Arabs, and foreigners from Sudan. It also hailed the evacuation efforts of Egypt, UAE and Algeria.

The Parliament expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to Sudan for all the victims of the recent clashes
