Makkah — The media spokesman of Makkah region police said that the Special Force for Road Security has arrested two citizens in possession of 10 kilograms of narcotic hashish, hidden into the cavity of their vehicle, on Al-Laith – Asir road.
He added that they were apprehended and initial legal procedures were taken to refer them to the competent authority.

Riyadh–The Ministry of Investment concluded its participation in the four-day International Real Estate Exhibition (MIPIM), which was held from March 15-18 in Cannes, France, where the ministry showcased investment opportunities, competitive advantages, and the size and diversity of promising opportunities in the real estate sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The ministry’s participation in the exhibition aims to review the strategic goals and projects of the participants, the competitive advantages and the promising opportunities in the real estate sector in the Kingdom, and to provide information and studies on the sector, and the capabilities that the Kingdom owns in the real estate sector, and to create possible partnerships to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to raise the proportion of homeownership for citizens to 70%, to place three Saudi cities among the top 100 cities that are more suitable for living in the world, and to raise the percentage of the private sector’s contribution to 65% of GDP, and the percentage of foreign investment’s contribution to 5.7% of GDP.
During its participation, the ministry, under the umbrella of “Invest in Saudi”, highlighted the investment opportunities for the real estate sector in KSA, the volume of growth, and the demand for real estate services, which stands at $20.5 billion, reflecting the sector’s size and diversity of investment opportunities.
The ministry also highlighted the Kingdom’s competitive advantages and its capabilities in the real estate sector, the largest in the region, as the population growth is expected to add 6 more million by 2030, and the value of mortgage loans is estimated to rise during the next ten years from $133.3 billion to $213.3 billion.
As part of its participation, the ministry demonstrated the Kingdom’s support for the development of the sector by relying on technology in value chains, enhancing transparency by publishing real estate indicators online, in addition to providing innovative financing solutions to enable those wishing to obtain products.
A total of 12 Saudi-foreign partnership agreements were signed on the sidelines of the exhibition and under the umbrella of “Invest in Saudi”, in which several government agencies and the private sector participated, including the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, the Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh, the National Housing Company, Roshn, Retal, and Ajdan, to display Investment opportunities and major real estate and housing projects in the Kingdom.

Rabat – Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), Dr. Salem bin Mohammad Al-Malik affirmed the organization’s commitment to work and cooperate with its Member States to achieve the aspirations of the women and girls of the Islamic world for a more equitable future for them, in which they occupy a higher percentage of leadership positions in various fields.
In a virtual speech delivered during a symposium held by the Moroccan Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family on the topic “Green job opportunities to enhance the economic empowerment of women as active parties in sustainable development and climate change reduction”, he called for more attention to the green and circular economy, and green jobs in women’s entrepreneurship, sustainable agriculture, as well as nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation in women-run enterprises.
ICESCO’s Director General reviewed the most prominent initiatives implemented by the organization during its celebration of Women Year, referring to its programs for women’s leadership, training them on leadership for peace and security, and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in this category.

Riyadh– The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continued its progress globally in the annual World Happiness Report 2022, which was issued by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and measures happiness indicators for about 156 countries worldwide, enhancing its status globally, ranking 25 despite the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic globally, compared to 26th in the 2021 report.
The indicators measured showed the Kingdom’s steady progress in the ranking of the happiest nations since 2017 till now, in light of the progress in achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and its flexible capabilities to adapt to the requirements of the development of quality of life in its various sectors.
The Kingdom excelled in terms of gross domestic product, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life decisions, in addition to the generosity and confronting corruption.
The Kingdom had solidified social support projects and adopted economic programs that contributed to overcoming the repercussions of the pandemic, as these efforts contributed to the Kingdom’s steady progress at the happiness index worldwide.

Brussels– European stocks closed higher on Friday, with investors largely making cautious moves.
Investors also continued to weigh the near-term impact of the recent monetary policy announcements from the Federal Reserve and the Bank of England.
The pan-European Stoxx 600 climbed 0.91%, and closed the week with a 5.2% gain, its best weekly performance since the week that ended on November 6, 2020.
Britain’s FTSE 100 gained 0.28%, France’s CAC 40 moved up 0.17% and Germany’s DAX advanced 0.12%, while Switzerland’s SMI surged up 1.02%.
Among other markets in Europe, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden and Turkey closed notably higher. Finland, Greece, Norway and Spain edged up marginally.
Iceland and Poland drifted lower, while Portugal ended flat.
