MSX Drops 44 Points


Muscat: Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) general index (30) today dropped (44.7) points, comprising a decline by (0.94%) to close at (4710.79) points, compared to the last session, which stood at (4755.46) points.

The trading value today stood at (RO 4,986,343), comprising a rise by (4.5%), compared to the last session, which stood at (RO 4,771,114).

The report released by MSX pointed out that the market value went down by (0.472%) to reach about (RO 23.98) billion.

The report added that the value of shares bought by non-Omani investors reached (RO 518,000), comprising (10.40%). The value of shares sold by non-Omani investors reached (RO 710,000), comprising (14.25%). The net non-Omani investment fell by (3.85%) to (RO 192,000).

THREE PALESTINIANS KILLED IN ISRAELI BOMBING IN JENIN CAMP


Two Palestinians were Wednesday dawn killed, and seven others were injured, following an Israeli drone bombing of group of youths in the Jenin camp, sources said.

The Ministry of Health said that Hamza Arrawi, 27, from Al-Ain camp in Nablus, and Mohammad Nasser Al-Sabti, 19, from Jenin camp, were killed after an Israeli drone bombed a group of young men in front of a house in Al-Damj neighborhood.

With the killing of Ararawi and Al-Sabti, the death toll in Jenin rises to three, after the killing of the 19-year-old Ayman Youssef Hassan Azouqa by occupation forces’ bullets in Jenin.

Syrian football team beats Myanmar team in World Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers

Riyadh, The Syrian national football team beat Myanmar national team on Tuesday 7-0 in a match that brought them together at Prince Mohammad bin Fahd Stadium, Saudi Arabia, in the 4th round of the group stage for the joint World Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers.

Footballer Omar Khribin scored three goals and Moayad Ajan scored two goals while Alaa al-Dali scored a goal and Ibrahim Hesar the last goal.

Earlier, the Syrian team beat the Korean team 1-0 in the 1st round, while it lost to Japanese team in the 2nd round, and tied with Myanmar team in the 3rd round of the group stage.

Oman Oil Price Drops 1.08 US Dollar


Muscat: Oman oil price (May delivery 2024) today reached 85.10 US Dollars, comprising a drop by 1.08 US Dollar compared to the price of yesterday (Tuesday), which stood at 86.18 US Dollars.

The average price of Oman oil (March delivery 2024) has stabilized at 78.75 US Dollars per barrel, thus 1.54 US Dollar per barrel higher than February delivery 2024.

JAMAA ISLAMIYA SAYS EMERGENCY CENTER TARGETED BY ISRAELI AIRSTRIKE IN HABBARIYEH NOT AFFILIATED TO THE GROUP


The Jamaa Islamiya clarified, in a statement on Wednesday, that the relief and emergency center hit by an Israeli airstrike in the town of Habbariyeh is not affiliated to the group.

“The National News Agency reported at 8:30 am today that the Lebanese Succor Association center targeted by an Israeli airstrike is affiliated to the Jamaa Islamiya. The truth is that the center belongs to the said association and the Jamaa has no relation whatsoever to it,” the group’s press office said in a statement.

All ports reopened for marmite navigation except Arwad and fishing ports in Tartous

Damascus, General Directorate of Ports at the Ministry of Transport on Tuesday announced that all ports were reopened for maritime navigation, except Arwad and the finishing ports in Tartous after the improvement in the weather conditions.

Earlier on Monday, the Directorate announced the closure of all seaports in Lattakia and Tartous until further notice due to the prevailing weather conditions, the high waves and the high wind speed.

SEVERAL CIVILIANS KILLED, OTHERS INJURED IN ISRAELI RAIDS ON DIFFERENT AREAS IN SOUTHERN GAZA


A child was killed and others were injured today evening in an Israeli strike that targeted a house east of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that Eileen al-Athamna was killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted her family’s home in the al-Geneina neighborhood, east of Rafah.

The death toll from the Israeli raid on a house sheltering displaced people north of Rafah rose to 19, including nine children, the sources reported.

The Israeli occupation also targeted a group of citizens while they were recovering bodies from under the rubble of a house in Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, killing two people and causing injuries to several others.

According to sources, the occupation artillery bombed the city of Hope, west of the Nuseirat camp, which was also targeted by the occupation warplanes.

Israeli aircraft launched raids targeting the vicinity of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, west of Gaza City as well as the town of Beit Hanoun and Jabalia Camp, north of the Strip.

Meanwh
ile, 12 bodies arrived at the European Gaza Hospital in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, after they were recovered from under the rubble resulting from the Israeli bombardment of the Al-Mawasi area.

The death toll of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip which started on the seventh of October, 2023, has risen to 32,414 people, with 74,787 others injured. A large number of victims are still trapped under the rubble and scattered on roads as ambulance and rescue crews are unable to reach them.

Starting Next April, Employing an Omani Mandatory in Commercial Registry for Foreign Investors


Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion has said that, starting next April, it will be mandatory to employ an Omani employee in the foreign investor’s commercial registry one year after starting the business. The Omani to be employed should be registered with the Public Authority for Social Insurance, with commitment to implementing the Omanization policy approved by the Ministry of Labour.

The step comes in implementation of the Council of Ministers’ decision to reduce commercial registration fees for foreign investors and treat them as an Omani investor, with the obligation to employ a minimum of one Omani employee.
