Customs Affairs holds workshop

The Customs Affairs has organised a workshop to train concerned government officials who are involved in the Customs Single Window (OFOQ2).

Director of Customs Clearance, Lieutenant-Colonel Abdullah Al Dosri, and the system team members were present.

The workshop aims to prepare the beneficiaries for the testing and training phase of the system.

OFOQ2 allows regulatory authorities to come out with statistics and performance indicators. It is part of the Customs Affairs’ initiatives and various digital projects.

Omani Hajj Mission Back Home

The Omani Hajj mission today returned home from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, after providing its services to Omani pilgrims in the Holy Lands as they performed Hajj rituals.

The members of the mission were received upon their arrival at Muscat International Airport by Dr. Mohammed Said Al Ma’amari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, Abdullah Saud Al Anzi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Sultanate of Oman, and officials at the Ministry.

This year, Oman Hajj Mission was headed by Sultan Said Al Hinai. The mission had left Oman for Saudi Arabia on 14 June 2023.

Acting in cooperation with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman will arrange pilgrimage for as many as 14,000 pilgrims during the next Hajj season in 1445 AH (2024).

Northern Governor chairs Coordination Council meeting

Northern Governor, Ali bin Al Shaikh Abdulhussain Al Asfoor, today chaired the weekly meeting of the governorate’s officials to mark the end of the Council’s third session.

He asserted that the council had succeeded in supporting approximately 74% of the initiatives and programmes.

The Governor praised the results achieved during the summer activity programme by reaching the desired goals related to introducing participants to practical and academic courses that keep pace with the Bahraini labour market, and involving students in the medical examinations in cooperation with the Taj Medical Centre, as part of the medical examination campaign.

He affirmed that in collaboration with Taj Medical Centre and the Bahrain Paramedic Academy, work is underway to prepare and qualify a group of doctors and paramedics who can provide first aid services during Ashoora season.

681 Volunteers Provide Various Services to Visitors of Prophet’s Mosque

The General Administration of Volunteer Work at the Agency of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Prophet’s Mosque said that 681 volunteers have spent 20,000 volunteering hours during the current month of Dhu al-Hijjah servicing more than 600,000 pilgrims and visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque.

Among the services the volunteers, who came from seven government agencies, carried out were guidance, crowd management, distribution of meals, transporting patients to hospitals, assisting the elderly, and ambulance services.

Coast Guard holds graduation ceremony

The Coast Guard has organised a graduation ceremony for two orientation maritime sciences courses for policewomen and newly graduated women.

Deputy Chief of Public Security indicated that the courses were part of the development and modernisation strategy adopted by the Interior Minister to enhance the skills of the Interior Ministry’s affiliates. He thanked the Chief of Public Security for supporting all training programmes.

During the ceremony, the graduates were presented with certificates.

One Palestinian martyred in the Israeli occupation continued aggression on Jenin

A Palestinian youth was shot dead Tuesday by the Israeli occupation forces who continue their attacks on Jenin city and its camp in the West Bank.

WAFA News Agency reported that Abdul Rahman Hardan, 22 years- old , died of a serious head injury by the continuous aggression of occupation for the second day on Jenin city and its camp.

The aggression until now left 11 Palestinians dead.

On Monday dawn , the occupation began a massive land and air aggression against on city and its camp.

HH Shaikh Nasser visits BMP; hails work progress

HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bapco Energies Company, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today paid a visit to the work sites of the Bapco Modernisation Programme (BMP).

While touting the sites, HH Shaikh Nasser was briefed on the progress of BMP, which is the largest strategic national project ever in the history of the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) and the Kingdom.

His Highness expressed his great admiration for the stages achieved so far and gave directives related to the main aspects of the promising project.

A ceremony was held marking the completion of the main building for the control units south of Bapco Refinery, which includes all the control, monitoring and operation management systems for all the new facilities of the BMP project.

HH Shaikh Nasser hailed the progress made since HH’s last visit to the project’s work sites, congratulating Bapco work team and the contractors in charge of implementing the current phase, He also praised their success in completing work according to schedule.

During the event, HH Shaikh Nasser toured a unique three-dimensional model of the project, which is the first of its kind to be implemented in the Middle East with three-dimensional technology. The model clearly and accurately shows all aspects of the facilities of the mega project.

HH Shaikh Nasser spoke with a number of female and male Bahraini youth working on the project, including operators, engineers, specialists and technicians, who all contributed actively to the completion of this advanced project, commending their professionalism and dedication and renewing HH’s full confidence in them, as well as in their abilities and capabilities that qualify them to manage this important site.

Bapco Energies’ board members, CEO of Bapco Energies, Mark Thomas, Board of Directors of Bapco, Abdulla Jehad Al-Zain, and CEO of Bapco, Dr. Abdul Rahman Jawahery, and senior executives at Bapco were also present during the field visit.

Bapco Chairman expressed thanks to HH Shaikh Nasser for opening the new building, praising HH’s encouragement of the project’s work team and contractors.

The Bapco Modernisation Programme is the largest project ever undertaken in the history of Bahrain, and for Bapco. This multi-billion dollar venture is the largest capital investment in its 90 year history.

The mega strategic project is carried out by a number of prestigious international companies, including Technip Energies (Italy), Technicas Reunidas (Spain) and Samsung (South Korea).

BMP aims to increase the refining capacity, enhance the product list and improve energy efficiency so as to make the Bahrain Refinery one of the most competitive in the region and one of the most environment-friendly.

The Federal Police forces arrested an accused of premeditated murder and 3 others under various legal provisions in Baghdad.

The Ministry of the Interior stated in a statement: “It is within the continuous security efforts of the federal police units in implementing the arrest warrants issued by the competent courts against those wanted by the judiciary; the federal police units within the sectors of their responsibility in Baghdad in the areas of (Al-Khatib Al-Zeraei, Jamila, Al-Sadr City) arrested 4 accused of various legal articles, including premeditated murder in Sadr City.”

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan refuses to establish a headquarters for the Popular Mobilization north of Kirkuk

The two members of Parliament for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Dylan Ghafoor and Kaylan Qadir, refused to establish a headquarters for the Popular Mobilization Forces in the Shura area, north of the city of Kirkuk, next to the Joint Operations Command in Kirkuk.

In a press conference in the Shurao area with a number of the neighborhood’s residents, they affirmed their rejection of the measures taken by the Popular Mobilization.

The Ministry of Communications confirmed the introduction of Internet service through space.

The Ministry Spokesman, Omar Abdel-Razzaq, said in a tweet on Twitter, “The repeated attempts by some channels and sites to undermine the Ministry did not and will not discourage our will to introduce Internet service through space and correct the reality of the telecommunications sector by limiting exclusivity and domination over it.”

He added, “The Ministry is continuing to work to fix what has been corrupted.”
