Karbala The Anti-narcotics detachments of the Holy Karbala Police Command arrested a gang of four people who traded with drugs.

A police statement stated that after receiving a report about a gang dealing in narcotic substances, the Police Chief directed the follow-up of the case and the formation of a working team consisting of anti-drug detachments and the camp police station to begin collecting sufficient information and bringing the wanted persons to justice, where the team reached all the gang members, numbering four, and they were all arrested in their possession narcotics.

Baquba The Diyala Police Command announced the arrest of one of the largest human organs dealers.

Spokesman for the Police Command, Brigadier-General Nihad Muhammad Hassan, said in a statement that one of the largest dealers in selling “kidneys” was arrested in a qualitative operation based on accurate intelligence information by the Diyala Intelligence Directorate, in coordination with the Anti-Human Trafficking Division of the Diyala Anti-Crime Division.

He added that, through preliminary investigations, the merchant admitted that he had brought a number of people to the Kurdistan region for the purpose of selling their human organs.

He added that the area is small, random and overlapping houses, which facilitated the spread of the fire, indicating that the police opened an investigation into the incident.

The President of the Federation of Arab Journalists, Moayad Al-Lami, said in a statement, “The General Federation of Arab Journalists is following with satisfaction the decision of the Minister of Justice in the US government to open an investigation into the assassination of the famous journalist Sherine Abu Aqelah, and to assign the competent authority to conduct this investigation, expressing his hope that an independent investigation will be conducted into the crime of the assassination of the martyr journalist, Sherine Abu Aqelah, by the Zionist occupation forces, and her martyrdom as a result of her direct injury to the head.

Al-Lami added, according to the statement, “the General Union of Arab Journalists calls for an international investigation to be attended by a delegation from the union to reveal the circumstances of this horrific crime that claimed the life of the martyred Palestinian journalist Sherine Abu Aqelah. It also calls on all international media organizations and human rights organizations to condemn this heinous crime and to prosecute its perpetrators so that they do not go unpunished.”

Al-Amarah The security forces in Maysan broke up a clan quarrel that erupted in one of the areas of the city of Al-Amarah, the center of the governorate, and arrested both parties.

The Maysan Police Directorate said in a statement: “After news of the outbreak of a clan quarrel that developed into the use of weapons, the Maysan Police Department directed the emergency police detachments and patrols to the scene of the quarrel and imposed a security cordon to pursue and arrest the perpetrators.”

Human Rights Committee: harsh labor and economic problems hit the children of Diyala

Baquba The Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Diyala confirmed that harsh labor, social problems and lack of rights affect large segments of the province’s children.

The Director of the office, Salah al-Majami, told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that Diyala children suffer from school dropouts, family disintegration, and the practice of some dangerous jobs as a result of the absence of laws that protect children.

He added that the most prominent problems affecting Diyala’s childhood are divorce cases and the deterioration of the economic and living conditions that prompted children to resort to harsh labor and work in workshops and works that are not appropriate for their age. He called for developing a strategy to protect children in Iraq and provide the requirements for a decent life, and implement programs and plans to save children in Diyala by improving the living conditions of families to prevent children from dropping out of school, in addition to immunizing children from social networking sites that incite dissolution and disintegration, and confronting poisonous cultures that threaten societies.

Baghdad Four people were injured in an armed conflict east of Baghdad this afternoon, Wednesday.

A security source said: “An armed conflict erupted in Al-Shamaya area, east of Baghdad, against the background of a clan conflict, which led to the injury of four people.”
