UAE Tolerance Minister meets King Hamad Global Centre Chairman

Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Co-existence, met here Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, with whom he discussed ways to bolster joint cooperation.

Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak expressed appreciation for the effective quality efforts exerted by the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence to promote the values of tolerance and human fraternity, praising the cultural and religious diversity enjoyed by the kingdom.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed lauded the solid deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two countries, which are growing steadily at all levels, citing the two countries’ pioneering endeavours to enhance their civilisational leadership and achieve the best for the entire humanity.

He affirmed Bahrain’s tireless efforts to implement its approach based on consolidating the values of cultural pluralism, openness and peace-building, which reflects the visions and aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, citing the royal call to adopt an international agreement to criminalise religious, sectarian and racist hate speech in all its form, as well as the launch of the King Hamad Award for Peaceful Coexistence.

He also reviewed the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence’s mission, objectives and support for many international events and conferences, noting that the Centre carries the banner of moderation, and is striving to establish peace in new spaces.

The King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence chairman said that he was looking forward to strengthening the solid partnership between the two countries, especially regarding efforts to raise youth’s awareness of the need to confront ideas of extremism, fanaticism, racism and hatred, as well as enabling them to transform their constructive ideas in this field into a tangible reality.

He also expressed hope that the two countries will launch joint initiatives to consolidate noble human values.

HRH the Crown Prince Congratulates President of the Slovak Republic on Constitution Day

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has sent a cable of congratulations to President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Caputova on the occasion of her country’s Constitution Day.

HRH the Crown Prince wished the president continued good health and happiness and the government and people of the Slovak Republic steady progress and prosperity.

Asian and Pacific Affairs Chief meets ASEAN Foundation Executive Director

Ambassador Fatima Abdulla Al-Dhaen, Chief of Asian and Pacific Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met Dr. Piti Srisangnam, ASEAN Foundation Executive Director.

Ambassador Al-Dhaen held the meeting on the sidelines of her participation in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Business and Investment Summit (ABIS), and the ASEAN-Indo-Pacific Forum (AIPF), as well as their accompanying events, held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The two sides reviewed the existing relations between Bahrain and ASEAN, as well as ways to enhance them through ASEAN Foundation in the fields of arts, culture, education, digital empowerment and others.

Founded in 1977, the ASEAN Foundation aims to accelerate economic, social and cultural development across ASEAN countries.

The Kingdom of Bahrain ratified the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) and its amended protocols in 2019, and was the third Arab country to do so at that time.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister congratulated by the Minister of Information

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received a cable of congratulations from the Minister of Information, HE Dr Ramzan bin Abdullah Al-Noaimi, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of television broadcasting in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

HE Dr Al-Noaimi highlighted that the occasion marks a starting point for media achievements that have continued over the last five decades and have seen significant development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

HE Dr Al-Noaimi expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness for inaugurating the main studio of Bahrain TV News Center and the private radio channels building at the Ministry of Information.

HE Dr Al-Noaimi emphasised that the inauguration of the new facilities was a historic moment in the Kingdom’s national media sector that paved the way for further development and modernisation, in line with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision, and the support of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to further develop the role of the national media.

HE Dr Al-Noaimi highlighted that the inauguration of these strategic projects coincided with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of television broadcasting in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting the ongoing development of national television with the support of the government, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

HE Dr Al-Noaimi expressed his appreciation for His Royal Highness’s commitment to enhance the media sector’s role in line with HRH’s vision that advocates development and modernisation.

HE Dr Al-Noaimi also thanked HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his support of freedom of speech and expression within the framework of the Kingdom’s comprehensive development led by HM the King.

The Minister of Information commended His Royal Highness’s ongoing support of the Kingdom’s national media personnel, which is an encouragement to continue serving the Kingdom, it’s citizens and residents.

Foreign Minister chairs MBMA board meeting

Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies (MBMA), chaired today the meeting of the academy’s board of trustees.

The Minister praised the role of MBMA in preparing and training employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the field of diplomatic work. He expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the board members in supporting the training programmes organised by the academy.

He stressed the keenness of the ministry continuing to build on what has been achieved at advanced levels in training and development of diplomats, under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister as well as their vision for an active Bahraini diplomacy.

Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa bin Hamad Al Khalifa, MBMA Director General expressed her gratitude to Dr. Al Zayani and all board members for the support and continuous interest in supporting the academy training programmes and its activities which contributed to achieving the goals and objectives.

She gave a presentation on the developments of the academy in the year 2023, and its plan and priorities for the development of diplomatic cadres in the fourth quarter of the year 2023 by offering a set of training and language programmes, to enhance the capabilities of the diplomatic and administrative staff in the Foreign Affairs Ministry, both within Bahrain or in the kingdom’s missions abroad.

The board members expressed their gratitude to MBMA for its role in preparing diplomats and preparing them according to international standards, and wished the academy affiliates success.

Interior Minister Receives GCC Secretary-General

The Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, received today the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi.

At the beginning of the reception, Prince Abdulaziz commended the efforts exerted by the General Secretariat of the GCC in enhancing the joint security work among the council’s member states in a manner that meets the aspirations of its leaders.

During the reception, a number of topics of mutual interest were reviewed.

Foreign Minister receives UK Ambassador-designate

Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani today received UK Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Bahrain Alastair Long, who presented a copy of his credentials.

Dr. Al Zayani hailed deep-rooted historic relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, and stressed joint commitment to further enhancing joint ties across all fields.

The UK diplomat stressed his country’s commitment to further enhancing relations of friendship and cooperation across all fields towards serving the two friendly countries and peoples, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.

OIC Secretary-General Meets with President of Iraq Fiqh Council

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, in Baghdad today, met with the President of the Iraq Fiqh Council Dr. Ahmed Hasan Al-Taha.

Al-Taha commended the effective role and stances adopted by the OIC towards attacks against copies of the Holy Quran in some Western countries, praising the noble mission of the secretary-general in leading the organization that represents the voice of the Islamic world.

He also stressed the importance of Arab and regional openness to Iraq’s stability and development in international relations.

The OIC secretary-general referred to the status of Iraq and its influential role in the Arab and international arenas, expressing happiness for visiting the council known for its moderate discourse and openness to religious references inside and outside Iraq.

Transportation Minister receives US Ambassador

Mohammed bin Thamer Al Kaabi, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, received the United States of America Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Steven C. Bondy.

The minister praised the robust Bahraini-US ties in all fields, including the transportation and telecommunication sectors.

Al Kaabi praised the ongoing constructive cooperation between the two countries, stressing the importance of continuing to work to strengthen bilateral relations and push them towards broader horizons.

The ambassador expressed appreciation to the minister and wished Bahrain continued success and propensity.

Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Meets with UK Minister of State for Middle East Affairs

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member, and Climate Affairs Envoy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, met yesterday with the United Kingdom Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and United Nations at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Lord Tariq Ahmad, in the city of Bled, Slovenia.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 18th session of the Bled Strategic Forum (BSF 2023).

During the meeting, the two ministers reviewed bilateral relations and discussed a number of issues of interest as well as topics of the BSF 2023 agenda.

Defense Ministry: Fighter Jet (Tornado) Falls during Training in Eastern Region, Crew Survives

The Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense Brigadier General Turki Al-Malki stated that at (15:44) on Monday, August 28, 2023, one of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) fighter jets (Tornado) fell during a routine training mission in King Abdulaziz Air Base’s training area in Dhahran.

Brigadier General Al-Malki confirmed the survival of the aircrew after using the two survival chairs, adding that there are no injuries or losses on the ground as a result of the jet’s fall.

Brigadier General Al-Malki disclosed that an investigation committee has commenced its proceedings to unfold the reasons behind this accident.

Newly appointed NCC CEO assumes duties

Ahmed Khalid Al Araifi, today met Yousef Mohammed Al Binkhalil, and took over as Chief Executive Officer of the National Communication Centre (NCC).

CEO of NCC affirmed his keenness to continue strengthening the government communication system in a way that contributes to highlight Bahrain’s development process under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Al Araifi praised the sincere efforts made by Al Binkhalil during his tenure as the CEO of NCC, noting the projects that contributed to unifying the government media discourse according to a clear methodology and various plans and initiatives.

He stressed the keenness to continue to redouble efforts to keep pace with the rapid progress in the communication sector, which contributes to supporting development policies and programmes according to a wide communication system that includes various media agencies locally and abroad.

Al Binkhalil congratulated Al Araifi on the precious royal trust bestowed upon him by appointing him to his post, wishing him every success in carrying out his duties.
