UAE Tolerance Minister meets King Hamad Global Centre Chairman

Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Co-existence, met here Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, with whom he discussed ways to bolster joint cooperation.

Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak expressed appreciation for the effective quality efforts exerted by the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence to promote the values of tolerance and human fraternity, praising the cultural and religious diversity enjoyed by the kingdom.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed lauded the solid deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two countries, which are growing steadily at all levels, citing the two countries’ pioneering endeavours to enhance their civilisational leadership and achieve the best for the entire humanity.

He affirmed Bahrain’s tireless efforts to implement its approach based on consolidating the values of cultural pluralism, openness and peace-building, which reflects the visions and aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, citing the royal call to adopt an international agreement to criminalise religious, sectarian and racist hate speech in all its form, as well as the launch of the King Hamad Award for Peaceful Coexistence.

He also reviewed the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence’s mission, objectives and support for many international events and conferences, noting that the Centre carries the banner of moderation, and is striving to establish peace in new spaces.

The King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence chairman said that he was looking forward to strengthening the solid partnership between the two countries, especially regarding efforts to raise youth’s awareness of the need to confront ideas of extremism, fanaticism, racism and hatred, as well as enabling them to transform their constructive ideas in this field into a tangible reality.

He also expressed hope that the two countries will launch joint initiatives to consolidate noble human values.
