HM King orders Eid Al-Adha kiswa to RHF-registered families

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Honorary President of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), has ordered the distribution of Eid Al-Adha clothing for all RHF-registered widows and orphans.

HM King Hamad requested the RFH, led by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, to oversee and follow up on the defrayal of the kiswa to all beneficiaries.

On the occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser extended deepest congratulations and best wishes to HM the King on Eid Al-Adha, praying to Allah the Almighty to bless HM King Hamad with good health and well-being, and to protect Bahrain and its people.

HH Shaikh Nasser also extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to HM the King for his fatherly care for the RHF-sponsored families, and keenness to share the joy of Eid Al-Adha with them, praising the royal contestant directives to provide those families with all requirements of decent life.

RHF Secretary-General Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed, extended heartfelt congratulations to HM the King and HH Shaikh Nasser on Eid Al Adha.

He affirmed HM the King’s unwavering interest in the citizens on all occasions, citing the royal directives to provide all services to the citizens, especially the RHF-registered ones, under various circumstances.

Al-Sayed affirmed that the annual royal kind gesture always fills the hearts of the RHF-sponsored families with joy and happiness.

Information Minister congratulates Radio Bahrain for winning Arab award

Information Minister, Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al-Noaimi, has congratulated Radio Bahrain and those in charge of the “Nahyeeha Li Naya” (We Revive It so that We Can Live) programme for winning the silver award in the health programmes category during the 23rd edition of Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) Radio and TV Festival, which concluded in Tunis, Tunisia, yesterday.

The minister expressed pride in the Information Ministry’s cadres, who succeeded in attaining this honourable national achievement at the Arab level, confirming their distinguished professionalism and creativity across media work fields.

Dr. Al-Noaimi affirmed the Information Ministry’s keenness to support and prepare the national competencies so as to highlight the bright image of the kingdom at regional and international gatherings, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The winning radio programme was produced by the Information Ministry, presented by Alaa Al-Banna and directed by Saber Al-Said.

Minister hails UAE’s sustainable development strides

Sustainable Development Minister, Noor bint Ali Al-Khulaif, has affirmed the depth of the long-standing fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, praising the UAE’s pioneering accomplishments and distinguished international status thanks to its success in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Minister Al-Khulaif was speaking as she met here Maryam Al Hammadi, the UAE Minister of State, and Secretary-General of the Cabinet, on the sidelines of her official visit to the UAE to discuss ways to enhance the exchange of the best practices, expertise and experiences in the sustainable development fields.

During the meing, Al-Khulaif lauded the UAE’s remarkable achievements in the field of sustainable development, hailing the efficiency of the UAE’s “Government Performance” system which was developed to ensure the delivery of the best services.

The Sustainable Development Minister also met the Vice President of the Emirates Council for Gender Balance and Director-General of the Media Office of the Government of Dubai, Mona Ghanem.

She praised the major role played by the Media Office of the Government of Dubai in preparing and implementing strategic communication plans, ensuring media coverage and launching important initiatives and events.

In this regard, she stressed the importance of enhancing constructive cooperation between the two countries to avail of the two countries’ expertise in various fields.

She also met the Chair of the UAE Government Media Office, Saeed Mohammad Al Eter Al Dhanhani, who briefed her about the work mechanisms of the Office, and its role in supporting the sustainable development process.

Minister Al-Khulaif also paid a visit to the UAE Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, and was informed about its strategic duties to develop and enhance the UAE’s performance in the areas of global competitiveness, statistics and data, and to support the country’s journey in achieving UAE’s Centennial Plan 2071.

HH Shaikh Nasser mourns Bahrain Victorious cyclist, Gino Mäde

HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has offered his deepest condolences and sympathy to the family and Team Bahrain Victorious following the passing of the team’s cyclist, the Swiss Gino Mäde, as a result of a very serious crash during stage 5 of the Tour de Suisse.

HH Shaikh Nasser posted news of the death of the late Team Bahrain Victorious cyclist, along with his photo, on his Instagram account.

HH Shaikh Nasser recalled the contributions of the late cyclist to the team’s positive results throughout his career with it, citing his success in winning Stage 6 of the Giro d’Italia.

Team Bahrain Victorious issued a statement mourning its late cyclist, and giving details of the tragic accident.

“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we have to announce the passing of Gino Mäder. On Friday 16th June, following a very serious crash during stage 5 of the Tour de Suisse, Gino lost his battle to recover from the severe injuries he sustained. Our entire team is devastated by this tragic accident, and our thoughts and prayers are with Gino’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” the statement said.

The Military Intelligence arrested a drug dealer in Anbar.

The Directorate’s statement stated that, based on accurate intelligence information of the Seventh Division, and in cooperation with the security forces holding the land, an elaborate ambush was set up in Al-Jamiya neighborhood, and as a result, a drug dealer was arrested in Al-Qaim district, who was in his possession more than (2000) narcotic pills with him according to the applicable controls and contexts.

Al-Sudani and the Emir of Qatar sponsor the signing ceremony of a joint declaration of intent for cooperation between the governments of the two countries

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and the Emir of the State of Qatar sponsored today, Thursday, the signing ceremony of a “declaration of intent” for cooperation and a number of agreements between the two countries.

A statement by Al-Sudani’s media office stated that a joint declaration of intent was signed between the governments of Iraq and Qatar for comprehensive cooperation in the political, economic, energy and investment fields, as well as the signing of two agreements in the fields of air and maritime transport, and a memorandum of understanding regarding the abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports.

On the sidelines of the visit, a number of memorandums of cooperation in the field of energy were also signed, pertaining to crude oil and supplying Iraq with liquefied gas, a memorandum of cooperation to establish a joint oil company and another to establish a refinery.

In the field of investment, four memorandums of cooperation were signed for the National Investment Authority, the first with the Qatari Urbacon Holding Company, the second with the Qatari company (Elegance Health Care), and two memorandums of cooperation with the Qatari Investment Holding Company in the field of developing new cities, and in building and developing hotels.

In the presence of Plasschaert….the President of the Kurdistan Region receives the delegation of the Council of Commissioners

The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, received today, Thursday, in Erbil, a delegation of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission.

The President of the Kurdistan Region welcomed the Chairman of the Council of Commissioners, Judge Omar Ahmed Muhammad, the Vice-Chairman of the Council, Judge Fayyad Yassin Hussein, and the members of the Council of Commissioners, thanking them for their visit to Erbil to discuss the file of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections.

In the meeting, which was attended by the UN Special Representative, Jeanine Plasschaert, and the Director of the Electoral Assistance Office at the United Nations Mission, Amir Rain, they discussed the political facts after the Federal Court’s decision on the unconstitutionality of extending the work of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament and the Commission’s readiness to complete the electoral event in Kurdistan.

For their part, the Chairman and members of the Board of Commissioners expressed the commission’s readiness to hold parliamentary elections in the region, stressing the importance of the success of this electoral process.

LMRA conducts five joint inspection campaigns across all governorates

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) affirmed its commitment to strengthen regulation by intensifying efforts and procedures to address illegal practices in the labour market in various governorates of the Kingdom.

The Authority announced that it conducted five joint inspection campaigns. The two joint inspection campaigns were carried out in the Capital and Southern Governorates in coordination with the General Directorate for Criminal Investigation and Forensic Evidence, while the third campaign was undertaken in Northern Governorate in coordination with the Nationality, Passports, Residence Affairs (NPRA), and the Governorate’s Police Directorate.

LMRA also stated that the fourth inspection campaign was conducted in coordination with the Sentence Enforcement Directorate in Southern Governorate and the fifth campaign was coordinated with the Social Insurance Organization (SIO) in the Muharraq Governorate.

LMRA renewed its call to all members of the society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal labour practices, by reporting violations via the electronic form on the authority’s website www.lmra.gov.bh or by calling the authority’s call centre on 17506055.

RCSI Bahrain hosts 14th Conferring Ceremony

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, attended the 14th conferring ceremony of Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland-Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI Bahrain) at its campus in Busaiteen.

During the ceremony, 155 medical graduates and 120 graduates from the undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes were honoured.

Addressing the assembled attendees, RCSI President, Professor Laura Viani, expressed her gratitude and appreciation to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his patronage of the conferring ceremony. Professor Viani congratulated the graduates on their achievements and dedication throughout the years and praised the ongoing relationship and strong ties between RCSI and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

RCSI Bahrain President, Professor Sameer Otoom also took the opportunity to congratulate the graduates. He extended his gratitude to the friends and family members who had supported them in their achievements, wishing them continued success.

RCSI Vice Chancellor/Chief Executive and Registrar, Professor Cathal Kelly, and a number of senior officials also attended the ceremony.

It was a particularly special day for Dr Ahmed Qaedi, who was awarded the Medicine Overall Medal and the Professor James Finucane Prize in Medicine. Dr Manar AlMansoor won the Degree Award Marks Gold Medal, the Senior Cycle Silver Medal, the Professor David Whitford Prize in General Practice, the Professor Charlotte Kamel Prize in Psychiatry and the Professor Joe McMenamin Prize in Paediatrics.

Dr Walaa Albaqali was awarded the Senior Cycle Bronze Medal and the Professor Niall O’ Higgins Prize in Surgery, and the Professor John Murphy Prize in Obstetrics & Gynaecology was awarded to Dr Rebecca Bulmer.

Dr Jaleela bint AlSayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, was in attendance at the School of Nursing and Midwifery ceremony, where the Nursing Overall Medal was awarded to Ms Zainab Alderazi. The BSc Nursing Degree Award Gold Medal and the BSc Nursing Bronze Medal were awarded to Ms Hanan Faraj. The BSc Nursing Silver Medal was awarded to Ms Marafai Mabrook, and the Rufaida Al-Aslamia Award in Nursing was awarded to Mr Omar Almulla.

Since hosting its first Conferring Ceremony in 2010, RCSI Bahrain has produced more than 3,000 graduates in medicine, nursing and postgraduate studies who are now working in 38 countries throughout the world.

LLOC Chairman attends GCC meeting

Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission Chairman Nawaf Abdullah Hamzah, participated in the twenty-fourth meeting of the Standing Committee of Officials of Legislative Departments in the GCC countries, which was held today, in Riyadh, in the presence of the GCC secretary-general.

The meeting discussed a number of issues related to legislation and laws on the agenda of the legislative departments in the GCC states.

Bahrain’s delegation also included Acting Director of the Legislation and Official Gazette Department, Mohammed Abdul Rahman Khalil.

Foreign Minister Receives Credentials Copy of Polish Ambassador

Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister received here today a copy of credentials of Robert Rostek, appointed-ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the Sultanate of Oman.

Sayyid Badr welcomed the ambassador, wishing him success in carrying out his duties, and the bilateral relations between Oman and Poland further progress and growth.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Khalid Said Al Jaradi, Head of the Protocols Department and a number of officials.

Upon directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, left today, Wednesday, June 14, 2023, for the French Republic on a state visit.

During the visit, HRH the Crown Prince is set to meet with President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic and will lead the Kingdom’s delegation participating in the summit “For a New Global Financial Pact”, which is scheduled to be held in Paris on 22-23 June 2023. HRH the Crown Prince will also participate in the Kingdom’s official reception for Riyadh’s candidacy to host Expo 2030, which is scheduled to be held in Paris on 19 June 2023.
