Algerian Foreign Minister Receives Delegation of Saudi-Algerian Parliamentary Friendship Committee

Algiers, The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Ramtane Lamamra, received here today the delegation of the Saudi-Algerian Parliamentary Friendship Committee in the Shura Council, headed by Assaf bin Salem Abu Thaneen, currently on a visit to Algeria.

At the outset of the meeting, Lamamra welcomed the parliamentary delegation, praising the development of historical relations between Algeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressing everyone’s aspiration to enhance joint cooperation in all fields.

For his part, Abu Thaneen expressed deep thanks to the warm reception and the accompanying delegation, stressing the depth of the historical relations between the two countries.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations at all levels, especially the role of parliamentary diplomacy and develop the parliamentary dialogue on issues of common interest, in addition to sharing experiences and enhancing cooperation programs.

President of Algerian Council of Nation Receives Delegation of Shura Council

Algiers, President of the Council of the Nation of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Salah Goudjil received here today the delegation of the Saudi-Algerian Parliamentary Friendship Committee of the Shura Council led by member of the Shura Council and Chairman of the Committee Assaf bin Salem Abu Thaneen, in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to Algeria Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Busairi.

At the outset of the meeting, the President of the Council of the Nation of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria welcomed the delegation of the Shura Council.

During the meeting, they affirmed enhancing the parliamentary consultation and coordination between the two sides on various issues of common interest, as well as issues of bilateral cooperation, within the framework of the historical ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Algeria.

OIC General Secretariat Condemns Explosion at Mosque in Vicinity of Kabul’s Interior Ministry

Less than a week after the suicide attack at a Kabul tutoring center, a deadly blast hit on Wednesday 05 October 2022 a mosque in Kabul in the neighborhood of the interior ministry compound.

Several people are feared dead and dozens others have been reportedly injured by the explosion.

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) vehemently deplores the blast at Kabul’s interior ministry. It expresses its grave concern over the relentless spate of brutal attacks deliberately targeting civilian and official facilities in different parts of Afghanistan.

As the OIC expresses its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, and its genuine wishes to the injured for a full and speedy recovery, it reasserts its persistent calls on the de facto authorities in Kabul to effectively address the pockets of violence that threaten to widen the circle of emerging insecurity unless persuasively managed.

President Aoun followed up on developments related to Lebanon’s comments regarding the American mediator’s offer in the indirect negotiations to demarcate the southern maritime borders.

President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, followed-up on developments related to the remarks made by Lebanon regarding the offer made by the American mediator in the indirect negotiations to demarcate the southern maritime borders, in light of the meeting held yesterday at Baabda Palace in the presence of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister, Najib Mikati and members of the technical committee for the demarcation of the southern maritime borders.

Former Minister Hoballah:

President Aoun received former Minister Imad Hoballah and discussed with him the current political developments and the process of demarcating the southern maritime borders.

After the meeting, Hoballah said: “I was pleased today to visit His Excellency President Michel Aoun to deliberate with him the latest developments in border demarcation, especially after the meeting he held yesterday, and to learn the content of Hochstein’s message, and the Lebanese response today as a stable and advanced step on the path to ensuring Lebanon’s rights in its land, oil and sky which are the sources of Lebanon’s strength, the unity of its state and its leadership.

A number of pressing economic issues were also discussed, and the strenuous efforts made by His Excellency the President to form a government and secure the election of a President of the Republic. It was emphasized during the meeting the need to complete the forensic audit of accounts of the Banque du Liban, the fight against corruption in all its forms, and the independence of the Lebanese decision”.

Vice President of “Caritas” and Father Ziad Al-Haddad:

President Aoun met the Vice-President of Caritas Lebanon, Dr. Nicolas Hajjar, and the former head of the Lazarus Order in Lebanon and the Middle East, Father Ziad Al-Haddad Al-Azari.

Cabinet Affairs Minister praises solid Bahraini-Saudi relations

Manama, Cabinet Affairs Minister, Hamad bin Faisal Al-Maliki, has stressed that the distinguished Bahraini-Saudi relations embody the depth of the two kingdoms’ fraternal bonds and complementarity, as well as the strength of their long-standing relations.

He highlighted the kingdom’s keenness to continue bolstering cooperation with Saudi Arabia, in light of the unwavering care and interest of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

The Cabinet Affairs Minister also commended the role played by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, to support areas of complementarity in all fields, and introducing more promising sectors that would benefit the two kingdoms and their brotherly peoples.

While meeting the Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain, HRH Prince Sultan bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz, at the Gudaibiya Palace today, the Cabinet Affairs Minister emphasised the importance of strengthening the ongoing bilateral strategic partnership and broadening joint action and coordination, praising the advanced level reached by joint Bahraini-Saudi cooperation across various fields.

The Saudi Ambassador expressed thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its keenness to broaden areas of joint cooperation with his country, and open up new horizons for the Bahraini-Saudi relations.

Saudi Arabia to host 25th World Petroleum Congress in 2026

Riyadh, The organizational committee of the World Petroleum Congress (WPC) has announced accepting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s bid to host and organize the congress and its accompanying exhibition in 2026.

Saudi Arabia has received a big international support after the Ministry of Energy has recently extended the bid for Saudi Arabia to host the congress and the exhibition, according to SPA.

WPC Director General Dr. Pierce Riemer has congratulated Saudi Arabia for being selected to host the 25th edition of the congress in Riyadh, for being the biggest oil-exporting country in the world and owning the one of the world’s biggest oil reserves, which highlights Saudi Arabia’s importance globally to host one of the most important meetings of energy in the world.

Riemer expressed aspiration to work with Saudi Arabia to organize a successful congress in 2026 that matches the status of Saudi Arabia in its capacity as a global pioneer in the energy field, in addition to its being among the most active economies in the world.

WPC is considered a prominent global event that brings together countries and international organizations every three years to enhance cooperation in energy fields and provide solutions to main challenges facing the development of this vital sector.

KSrelief Concludes Entrepreneurship Course in Al-Mahra Governorate, Yemen

Al-Mahra, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) concluded an entrepreneurship course in Al-Mahra Governorate, Yemen, as part of a project to support the empowerment of young people to improve livelihoods in Yemen.

This project comes within a number of humanitarian and relief projects provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the KSrelief, to advance the economic situation and improve the income of the most needy groups.

Shura Council Holds 2nd Ordinary Session

Riyadh, Presided over by its Deputy Speaker Dr. Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Salami, the Shura Council held virtually today its 2nd ordinary session.

During the meeting, the Shura Council discussed a number of reports presented by the Hajj, Housing and Services Committee; the Health Committee; the Financial and Economic Committee; the Trade and Investment Committee; and the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee.

The Shura Council approved a draft memorandum of understanding between the General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the Republic of Costa Rica on the development of trade relations between the two countries.

It also approved a draft cooperation agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Hellenic Republic in the field of sports.

The Shura Council also discussed a number of issues on its agenda.

The Council of Ministers holds its session headed by Al-Kadhimi..and approves several recommendations

Baghdad Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi chaired today, Tuesday, the thirty-sixth regular session of the Council of Ministers, in which the overall general situation in the country was discussed, and a number of files and topics on the agenda were discussed.

Al-Kadhimi directed, according to a statement by his media office, all ministers to continue to work at the same pace, and to overcome all obstacles that stand in the way of implementing the interests of citizens.

In the context of the session, the Council of Ministers discussed a detailed report on the financial situation in Iraq, the many challenges facing the country and government measures regarding them.

The Council of Ministers hosted the Governor of the Central Bank; to discuss a number of files related to combating money laundering operations.

President Receives Congratulatory Cables From King of Britain and the French President on the Occasion of the National Day

Baghdad The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received two cables of congratulations from Britain’s King Charles III and the French President
Emmanuel Macron on the occasion of the Iraqi National Day.

In his telegram, Macron affirmed France’s support for the security and stability of Iraq, and work to strengthen bilateral relations in a manner that serves the two friendly peoples.

IAEA Elects Saudi Arabia as Member of the Board of Governors until 2024

Vienna, The General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) elected today the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by a majority of votes, to become a member of the Agency’s Board of Governors within the Council’s member states from its geographical group – the countries of the Middle East and South Asia.
The IAEA’s Board of Governors, which consists of 35 members, is considered one of the most important decision-making tools in the Agency, especially with regard to some critical issues, foremost of which is the safeguards file, which is the Agency’s responsibility to verify the peaceful activities of the state parties to the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Secretary-General of GCC Receives Danish Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, discussed the relations of cooperation between the GCC and Denmark, and ways to enhance them in various fields to serve common interests.
This came during his meeting, which took place her today, with the Ambassador of Denmark to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Liselotte Plesner.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the GCC-Denmark relations, ways to enhance and develop them in various fields as well as a number of issues of common interest.
