Syrian-French Friendship Association Symposium: Lifting unfair western siege on Syria, holding accountable who support terrorism in it

Paris, Participants in the symposium held by the Syrian-French Friendship Association stressed the necessity of holding accountable those who were involved in the terrorist war on Syria, lifting the Western unfair siege on the Syrian people and reconstructing what have been destroyed by that terrorist war.

In his speech during the Symposium which was held on Zoom website under the motto “Syria.. the bets and lessons from a war without borders,” Michel Rimbaud, French diplomat and former Ambassador called to reconstruct what have been destroyed by terrorism in Syria.

Rimbaud called also for holding accountable those who were involved in the aggression on Syria, conspired against it as well as the mass media which fabricated the facts to the public opinion, indicating that the war in Syria is a war between the Syrian State on the one hand and the terrorists backed by foreign parties on the other hand, in addition to the hostility of some countries on it.

Africa Asia Journal’s editor-in-chief Majed Niemeh stressed that the unfair siege imposed by the US and France failed to achieve its goals, pointing out to the western countries attempt to undermine the Syrian State and that those countries have supported the terrorist organizations for this purpose.

For his part, Strategic expert in the International policies Bernard Corneau described the unjust sanctions imposed on the Syrian people by the West and regional countries as a “crime against humanity.”

Corneau indicated to the Turkish role in supporting terrorism in Syria, expressing condemnation over the Turkish occupation to Syrian territories and calling for punishing the countries which support terrorism.

Researcher in the Arab Affairs Faisal Jaloul said that the aim behind the terrorist war on Syria is partitioning it in order to remap the region with the aim of liquidating the Palestinian cause in serving the Israeli occupation entity, which has miserably failed.

Putin: We will continue to support Syria in combating terrorism, resolve international issues through dialogue

Moscow, Russian President, Vladimir Putin affirmed that Russia will continue to support Syria in combating terrorism till eliminating it completely, as well as, it will continue to exert efforts to resolve the international issues through dialogue, underlining the importance of UN role as a basis for the international relations system.

In a speech at the opening of the IX Moscow Conference on International Security on Wednesday, Putin said that the international security and law system are crumbling and the geopolitical turmoil, threat of terrorism and mass destruction weapons are increasing, in addition to that attempts to use force to achieve personal interests and enhance private security at the expense of others’ security continue.

He noted that these challenges require concerting efforts of all countries for the joint action on the basis of international law and UN charter to prevent outbreak of a new world war.

The Russian President indicated that Russia does not impose its will on other countries, asserting that it will exert all efforts to calm down the conflicts and resolve the international problems through dialogue.

He added that most of the Syrian territories have been liberated from terrorist organizations, saying that Russia will continue to back Syria to face terrorism until eliminating it, as well he affirmed Russia’s keenness on its relations with the neighboring countries to achieve their security and prosperity.

In turn, Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu said that “Moscow conference will open new prospects for resolving the international issues, asserting the importance of international cooperation in this regard, instead of imposing sanctions that destabilize security.

HRC President Meets with Chief of OHCHR MENA Section

Riyadh, President of the Human Rights Commission (HRC) Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad has met with Chief of the Middle East and North Africa Section at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Mohammed Ali Al-Nsour and officials of the Office of the High Commissioner.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Awwad reviewed the most prominent reforms and developments in the field of human rights in Saudi Arabia. He pointed out that those reforms and developments and the period during which they were achieved reflect the leadership’s determination to move forward towards everything that would promote and protect human rights.

The meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation within the framework of the memorandum of understanding for technical cooperation signed between the HRC and OHCHR. It also discussed ways to activate a number of items included in the memorandum, and cooperation between the two sides to achieve common goals.

Syrian- Russian talks on expanding economic cooperation

Damascus, Session of official talks between Syria and Russia was held on Tuesday at the Cabinet building.

The talks were headed by Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour Azzam of the Syrian side, and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov of the Russia side.

Expanding areas of joint cooperation and following up on the implementation signed agreements were discussed during the session, and laying the appropriate groundwork in preparation for the 13th session of the Syrian-Russian Joint Committee for Trade, Economic, Technical and Scientific Cooperation, as well as overcoming the difficulties encountered in joint action and finding solutions to them.

The talks also included economic, trade, industrial, agriculture, investment, customs, energy, maritime transport, railways, communications, digital technologies, medical products and medicines cooperation, in addition to facilitating the arrival of Russian goods to the Syrian market and providing the appropriate environment to establish development and economic projects which contribute to supporting the Syrian economy.

Borisov affirmed that his country will continue supporting Syria in all fields, particularly reconstruction and rehabilitation of infrastructure in energy and electricity fields, and raising their production capacities.

For his part, Minister Azzam underlined that the Syrian government works to strengthen strategic cooperation with the Russia and exert maximum efforts to implement bilateral agreements and joint vital projects, in addition to expanding economic cooperation, increasing trade exchange and encouraging mutual investment.

Foreign Ministry: Attempts of fabricating chemical scenario in Idleb won’t affect Syria’s stance in combating terrorism

Damascus, Foreign and Expatriates Ministry affirmed that attempts of terrorist groups to fabricate a paly using chemical weapons in Idleb province to accuse the Syrian Arab Army of the act, are guided and supported by the US, some Western countries and Turkish intelligence services.

An official source at the Ministry said in statement on Tuesday that the terrorist organizations and terrorists of White Helmets group and their supporters on the field ground and at the international forums have not stopped preparing for terrorist acts through preparations to stage chemical weapon play in some areas of Idleb and Hama provinces with the aim of accusing the Syrian Arab Army of the act.

The source clarified that the acts of terrorist organizations, with their different names, are done upon orders and support of the United States of America, some Western countries and the Turkish intelligence services.

It indicated that Syria will hold the countries that support those terrorists, especially the United States, Britain, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Turkey, responsible for using those toxic materials and killing innocent civilians without any moral deterrent.

“Syria also calls on the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons to not ignore that information and the need to take it very seriously and deal with it within the framework of its mandate specified in light of the Chemical Weapons’ Convention,” the source said.

It concluded by saying that the Syrian Arab Republic has repeatedly stressed its categorical rejection of the use of chemical weapons by anyone, in anywhere and under any circumstance, and that it has not used these weapons before and cannot use them now as it basically does not possess them.

Saudi Arabia to Host ALECSO Executive Council Virtual Meeting on July

Riyadh, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is set to host the virtual meeting of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO).

As many as 21 member states will take part, in the virtual gathering, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The meeting is set to take place on July 8, in order to discuss a number of issues that would best serve realizing the organization’s objectives.

This is the second time that the Kingdom will host a meeting for ALECSO, 40 years after it hosted it for the first time in the city of Taif in 1979.

KSrelief Supervisor General Meets with Japanese Ambassador

Riyadh, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah met in Riyadh today with Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Iwai Fumio.

During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest related to humanitarian and aid affairs and ways of enhancing them.

For his part, the Ambassador praised KSrelief’s distinguished humanitarian and relief projects and programs in different countries and peoples in need around the world. He also commended relations between the two countries.

Grospic calls for standing by Syria in the face of unilateral coercive measures

Prague, Head of the Czech Parliamentary Group for Friendship with Syria Stanislav Grospic has called for standing by Syria in the face of the “criminal” unilateral coercive measures imposed on its people.

In a statement to SANA’s correspondent in Prague on Thursday, Grospic said that the immorality of these sanctions is quite clear in banning the arrival of medicines and health equipment to Syria, which is considered a shame.

He pointed out that many American and European politicians have not yet abandoned the colonial view and their chaotic thinking towards sovereign countries, calling for confronting this policy and expressing the solidarity with Syria through taking practical steps in this regard.

Saudi-Hungarian Parliamentary Friendship Committee Meets with Hungarian Ambassador

Riyadh, The Saudi-Hungarian Parliamentary Friendship Committee of the Shura Council, chaired by the member of the Shura Council and Chairman of the Committee Saleh bin Manea Al-Khelaiwi, held a meeting today with Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Balazs Selmeci.

Chairman of the Committee stressed the importance of strengthening the bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Hungary in various political, economic and investment fields, praising the progress of the relations at the parliamentary level between the Hungarian Parliament and the Shura Council, and its impact on the development of the joint bilateral cooperation between the two countries at all levels.

For his part, the Hungarian Ambassador praised the leaps and progress the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing in various fields in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, stressing the importance of strengthening the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries to serve the common interests.

Syrian-Cuban Friendship Committee discusses parliamentary ties with Cuban Ambassador

Damascus, the Syrian –Cuban Friendship committee at the people’s Assembly discussed on Tuesday with Ambassador of Republic of Cuba in Damascus, Miguel Porto Barga , means of enhancing and developing parliamentary relations between two countries .

The Ambassador of Cuba affirmed that presidential election and the winning of Dr. Bashar al-Assad dealt a blow to the US and its allies, appreciating the great sacrifices offered by the Syrian Arab Army in the face of terrorist organizations, without which terrorism would have reached to the Latin American continent.

He called for the development of Cuban-Syrian relations at all levels and for continuous coordination at international forums to defend the issues of the two friendly countries and to continue the struggle in the face of global imperialism.

In turn, Chairman of the Committee, Muhammad Jarra , described Syrian-Cuban relations as deep and strong, indicating that peoples in the two countries have many common denominators , most notably the struggle against the United States of America to protect the sovereignty of the two countries and their independent decision.

OIC Secretary General Receives Ambassador of China to Saudi Arabia

Jeddah, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen received here today Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Chen Weiqing.

During the meeting, they discussed means to promote cooperation between the OIC and the People’s Republic of China.

Ambassador Khaddour: Syria cooperated with IAEA despite difficulties

Vienna, Syria’s permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Ambassador Hassan Khaddour, said that Syria has cooperated with the international organization and met its legal obligations according to the treaty of comprehensive Safeguards and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Agreement.

“Israel, with all its possessions of nuclear potentials, remained outside the Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement, and this represents a grave danger to the Non-Proliferation system… its rejection, as well, of all initiatives to make the Middle East a zone free of Nuclear Weapons poses threat to stability and security of the region,” Ambassador Khaddour added in a speech at IAEA session of Board of Governors in Vienna.

The Ambassador added that the continued cooperation between the IAEA and Iran according to the agreed upon procedures facilitates the full and active implementation of the two sides.
