BERRI RECEIVES OUTGOING ITALIAN AMBASSADOR


Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, received today at Ain al-Tineh Palace Italian Ambassador to Lebanon, Nicoletta Bombardieri, in a farewell visit on the occasion of the end of her duties as her country’s ambassador to Lebanon.

The meeting was a chance to review the general situation in Lebanon and the region and discuss bilateral relations between the two countries.

Speaker Berri also followed up on the latest political developments and legislative affairs during his meeting today with MP Michel Murr.

PSP DELEGATION PAYS CONDOLENCES VISIT TO RUSSIAN EMBASSY IN BEIRUT


A delegation representing the Progressive Socialist Party visited today the Russian embassy in Beirut to offer condolences on behalf of the party’s leader, MP Taymour Jumblatt, and the “Democratic Gathering”, to Russian Ambassador Alexander Rudakov, in wake of the tragic terrorist attack that claimed several innocent civilian lives in Moscow last Friday.

The delegation included PSP Secretary General Dhafer Nasser, MPs Bilal Abdallah and Faisal Al-Sayegh, and party official Halim Bou Fakhreddine, who renewed the Progressive Socialist Party’s condemnation of this heinous act.

ABU HAMDAN HAILS THE RESISTANCE AND ITS SACRIFICES IN CONFRONTING THE ISRAELI ENEMY


Member of the ‘Loyalty to the Resistance’ parliamentary bloc, MP Rami Abu Hamdan, on Monday affirmed, ‘We will continue to stand by the people of Gaza until our goals are achieved, the first of which is lifting the injustice against the people of Gaza, and when the war there ceases, we stop here and do not fear anything.’

He added: “Many voices in Lebanon came out to belittle the options and capabilities of the Resistance…and we say that we have a smart and wise Resistance that has prepared, equipped, trained and properly planned to such an extent that it will astonish the whole world in any future development.”

Abu Hamdan’s words came during a political meeting organized in the town of Qab Elias.

He considered that we are currently living in an economic and technological global war, the primary goal of which is to control the region and its resources.

Dozens of Colonists Storm Al Aqsa Mosque, Israeli Occupation Tightens Procedures Around It


Dozens of colonists stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque today, guarded by the Israeli occupation police.

Dozens of colonists broke into Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Maghrebi Gate under heavy protection of the Israeli occupation police, amidst extremist colonists from the temple groups, the Palestinian news agency (WAFA) quoted eyewitnesses as saying. The occupation police also tightened procedures at the gates of Al-Aqsa and the main gates of Old Jerusalem. They returned the young men and did not allow them to enter Al-Aqsa in the meantime.

The colonists carried out provocative tours in Al-Aqsa courtyards and performed Talmudic rituals, WAFA added.

The occupation forces also stormed Al-Qibli mosque to secure the colonists’ storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Death Toll from Israeli Aggression on Gaza Reaches 32,226


The death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has risen to 32,226 martyrs, the majority of whom are children and women, along with 74,518 wounded, Palestinian medical sources announced.

The occupation forces committed 8 massacres during the past 24 hours against families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 84 martyrs and 106 wounded, Palestinian news agency (WAFA) reported.

Sources pointed out that a number of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads with ambulances and civil defense crews unable to reach them due to preventions of the occupation.

The Israeli occupation continues its brutal aggression against the Gaza Strip by land, sea, and air for the 170th consecutive day, causing a human catastrophe in the Strip, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

During Palm Sunday Mass service in Bkirki this morning, Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros al-Rahi raised prayers to the Lord Almighty for the sake of Gaza’s children and for peace to prevail in wake of the Russian-Ukrainian war and the recent tragic massacre in Moscow.

Internally, al-Rahi prayed to the Almighty to grant us salvation amidst the structure of sin against God in which we are living, following the spiritual, moral, social and political sins that have brought corruption to its peak in our country.

He said: ‘The season of Great Lent is a time for all of us to return to God with all our hearts in the spirit of repentance and austerity, and to return to each other in the spirit of reconciliation and cooperation, and to our brothers and sisters who need a helping hand at the physical, spiritual, and moral levels…’

‘This is the path that leads us to commit, each in his position and responsibilities, to building our national unity complemented by our cultural and religious pluralism,’ the
Patriarch asserted.

GEAGEA DENOUNCES TERRORIST ATTACK IN RUSSIA: CONFRONTING TERRORISM REQUIRES BROADEST GLOBAL SOLIDARITY TO ERADICATE IT FROM ITS ROOTS


Lebanese Forces Party Chief, Samir Geagea, denounced “the terrorist attack that has so far left, unfortunately, nearly 100 Russian civilians dead, in a concert hall yesterday, Friday, in Moscow.”

He said in an issued statement today: ‘Terrorism has no religion, color, race, or language. It strikes in a hateful, bloody, and blind manner, leading to the disasters that we have witnessed and are still witnessing in more than one country in the world, most recently the terrorist attack that occurred in Moscow.’

Geagea stressed that “confronting terrorism requires the broadest global solidarity in order to eradicate it from its roots, as it constitutes the primary enemy of humanity and civilization. It also requires a relentless fight, regardless whether it is represented by individuals, organizations, regimes, or countries.”

He concluded by offering deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded.

HEZBOLLAH CONDEMNED THE TERRORIST ATTACK IN MOSCOW


In an issued statement on Satuday, Hezbollah “strongly condemned the bloody terrorist attack that targeted a large shopping mall in Moscow, which led to dozens of casualties and injuries,” expressing its sympathy with the families of the victims.

The party offered the Russian leadership and the friendly Russian people its deepest condolences and full human solidarity in this painful tragedy.

BASSIL CONTACTS RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR OFFERING SINCERE CONDOLENCES OVER MOSCOW TERRORIST ATTACK VICTIMS


The head of the Free Patriotic Movement, MP Gebran Bassil, contacted this afternoon the Russian ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, offering his deepest condolences on the victims of the terrorist attack in Moscow, stressing complete rejection of terrorism.

Bassil also sent similar condolences cables to the Russian authorities.

JUMBLATT SENDS CONDOLENCES CABLES TO PUTIN, LAVROV, & BOGDANOV: TERRORISM HAS NO BORDERS OR DETERRENTS


Former Progressive Socialist Party Chief, Walid Jumblatt, cabled today Russian President Vladimir Putin, condemning the terrorist attack that occurred in the city of Moscow on Friday, stressing that ‘the attack aims to strike the stability of Russia’ and that ‘terrorism has no borders or deterrent.’

Jumblatt’s cable stated: ‘I strongly condemn the terrorist attack that took place in the city of Moscow, which led to dozens of innocent civilian casualties, including many children. This brutal attack aims to strike the stability of Russia and confirms once again that terrorism has no borders or deterrents…In these difficult times, I express the highest degree of solidarity with the Russian people and extend my deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded.’

Jumblatt sent similar cables to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, stressing that ‘the attack aims to undermine stability in Russia and sabotage
internal peace.’

Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, cabled today Russian President Vladimir Putin, offering deepest condolences over the victims of the terrorist attack that targeted the suburbs of Moscow.

On behalf of the Lebanese parliament and people, the Speaker expressed sincere solidarity and sympathy to the families of the victims who were killed as a result of the terrorist attack that targeted a shopping center and a celebration hall in the suburbs of Moscow, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery.

He stressed Lebanon’s strong condemnation and denunciation of this cowardly terrorist act that targeted safe civilians, considering that terrorism has no religion or identity, whether committed by individuals or groups or through organized state terrorism.

Berri confirmed that such terrorist attacks represent continued aggression against all of humanity and the sacred religions and their tolerant values, which requires an urgent international effort to dry up their sources and suppress their destructive projects for inte
rnational peace and security.

Speaker Berri also sent a similar cable of condolences to his Russian counterpart, Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
