The President of the Republic returns to Baghdad after concluding his visit to Jordan

Baghdad, The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, returned today, Tuesday, to the capital, Baghdad, after concluding an official visit to Jordan.

He was seen off at Marka Airport by Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh, and a number of senior Jordanian officials.

During the visit, the President of the Republic held extensive discussions with King Abdullah II, in the presence of Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah, which focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding the horizons of cooperation between the two countries, in a way that contributes to strengthening ways of economic partnership and integration in various development sectors.

The President of the Republic received a number of members of the Iraqi community in Jordan, and stressed that caring for the interests of Iraqis residing abroad and providing them with the best services is one of the most important duties, and even one of the main priorities of the Presidency of the Republic and the Iraqi government.’

On
the sidelines of the visit, the President of the Republic met with Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh, Speaker of the House of Representatives Ahmed Al-Safadi, and Speaker of the Senate Faisal Al-Fayez.

During these meetings, ways of developing relations and enhancing cooperation in various fields were discussed. The recent developments in the region were also discussed, stressing the need to intensify efforts to consolidate international peace and security.

The President of the Republic visited the Iraqi embassy in Jordan, and pointed out, during his conversation with the embassy staff, the importance of the great role assigned to the Iraqi diplomatic missions in conveying the true picture of the conditions and important developments that Iraq is witnessing, especially in the field of security stability, and building, reconstruction and investment campaigns.

Al-Hakim: We renew our support for the PM’s visit to Washington

Baghdad, The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, renewed, today, Tuesday, his support for the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani to Washington.

Al-Hakim said in a statement: ‘We met this morning with the new Australian ambassador to Baghdad, Glen Mills, and expressed our wishes for success in heading his country’s diplomatic mission in Iraq. We also exchanged views on developing relations between Iraq and Australia, and we welcomed the desire of Australian companies to enter Iraq and benefit from the promised opportunities that Iraq offers in many fields.”

He added: “We renewed our support for the Prime Minister’s visit to Washington and expressed our hope that the visit will achieve the desired results, while we stressed the importance of Iraq’s stability for the security, stability and safety of the region.”

He continued: ‘We also renewed the call for a ceasefire in Gaza, and the necessity of providing relief to the displaced, bringing in aid, and rebuilding the city, and
we called on the international community to end the state of double standards in dealing with the tragic and disastrous reality in Gaza.’

Najaf, The Director of the new Najaf Airport, Hussein Al-Muhanna, held the dismissed Administration responsible for the loss and smuggling of official documents belonging to the airport.

Al-Muhanna said in a press statement, ‘The dismissed Administration bears legal responsibility for the loss of official documents.’

For his part, the head of the Najaf Council warned in a press conference of the repercussions of not adhering to the provincial council’s decision to dismiss the former Director.

Baghdad, The Head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed the importance of stability and development in the Iraqi provinces.

A statement by Al-Hakim’s office stated that, at the beginning of his visit to Sulaymaniyah Governorate, he met with its Governor, Haval Abu Bakr, and heard from him about the developments in the economic and social conditions in Sulaymaniyah, and stressed the importance of stability and development in the Iraqi governorates as part of stability and development in general in the country.

Al-Hakim stressed the necessity of investment and the income of investors, as it provides money and job opportunities and enhances the incomes of the governorate and the country more generally.

The Iraqi Ambassador in Ankara stresses to the Turkish Minister of Health the importance of accelerating the conclusion of memorandums of understanding in the health field.


Baghdad, The Iraqi Ambassador to Ankara, Majid Al-Lajmawi, discussed with the Turkish Minister of Health Fakhr al-Din Koca ways to enhance joint health cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Al-Lajmawi stressed the importance of accelerating the conclusion of the proposed memorandums of understanding between the two countries in the health field.

He thanked the Turkish health institutions that receive large numbers of wounded members of the Iraqi security services in accordance with the existing security and military cooperation program between the two countries.

He stressed the need to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of health tourism, especially since Turkey is a favorite destination for Iraqi patients, stressing the need to maintain meetings between the two sides to overcome the obstacles that Iraqi patients may face during their medical trip.

The Ambassador praised the role of Turkish companies that are building a large number of hospitals and health centers in
more than one Iraqi city, noting that these projects enhance the quality of health services provided to Iraqi citizens, stressing the importance of benefiting from Turkish expertise in managing and operating Iraqi health institutions, and enhancing cooperation in the field of importing medicines, medical supplies and devices that are characterized by high quality.

DEFENSE MINISTER DISCUSSES DEVELOPMENTS WITH RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR, ITINERANT VISITORS


Caretaker Minister of National Defense, Maurice Sleem, met on Tuesday at his Yarzeh office, with Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, with discussions reportedly touching on developments in Lebanon and the region, in addition to the bilateral relations.

Caretaker Minister of Defense also received in his office former MPs Estephan Al-Duwaihi and Mansour Ghanem Al-Bon, with whom he discussed the country’s general situation.

Minister Sleem later received Minister the Secretary General of the Independent Nasserite Movement- Al-Mourabitoun, Brigadier General Mustafa Hamdan, with whom he broached the latest developments in the country.

Al-Sudani discusses cooperation with General Dynamics to rebuild military capabilities

Baghdad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani received, this evening, Tuesday (Baghdad time), at his residence in Washington, DC, a delegation from General Dynamics, which is one of the largest American companies that manufacture weapons and military equipment.

During the meeting, cooperation with the company was discussed, within the framework of the government’s efforts and steps towards rebuilding its military capabilities in the field of tanks and armored vehicles, as well as cooperation to complete a large workshop for the maintenance and development of tanks, to make them compatible with Iraqi fields and airspace. It was also agreed to launch a set of initiatives with this company in the near future, which comes within the government’s plans to develop the military institution and support it with various types of modern weapons.

PM discusses with his Czech counterpart in Washington the strengthening of bilateral relations

Baghdad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received at his residence in Washington, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Peter Fiala and his accompanying delegation, and discussed with him the possibility of enhancing exchange and opening partnership opportunities with Czech companies.

Al-Sudani affirmed, according to a statement from his media office, his aspiration to respond to the official invitation he received to visit the capital, Prague, as soon as possible, pointing to Iraq’s desire to be open to all areas of economic exchange and integration, especially with the urban renaissance and infrastructure projects that Iraq is witnessing today.

“NATIONAL ACCORD” BLOC MEETS WITH AMBASSADORS OF QUINTET COMMITTEE


National Accord” bloc MPs Faisal Karami, Taha Naji, Hassan Murad, Mohammed Yahya and Adnan Trabulsi, on Tuesday met with the Ambassadors of the Quintet Committee.

The meeting took place at the residence of the Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alaa Moussa, in Aramoun.

The Quintet committee includes US Ambassador Lisa Johnson, French Ambassador Hervé Magro, KSA Ambassador Walid Bukhari, Egyptian Ambassador Alaa Moussa, and Qatari Ambassador Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

Discussions touched on the latest developments related to the election of a new President of the Lebanese Republic and the means to achieve this entitlement.

Following the meeting, MP Karami said: ‘We have sensed a push from the ‘quintet’ towards a solution in Lebanon in terms of electing a president of the republic, especially since Lebanon is going through a stage that is considered more dangerous than ever before.’ Karami added: “It is clear that there is no salvation or solution except through dialogue, and it is also clear that the Qui
ntet’s trust in Speaker Nabih Berri is great.’

Karami also indicated that ‘there is nothing new with the quintet, but only seeking opinions.’

Karami concluded by saying: ‘The name of the candidate we support is known and we are ready to go to any lengths to defend him.’

Integrity Commission: The coordination team discussed with the American side cooperation and coordination in combating corruption

Baghdad, The Federal Integrity Commission announced that the coordination team that accompanied the Prime Minister on his visit to the United States of America discussed several issues related to the recovery of wanted persons and smuggled assets as a result of corruption and the conclusion of memorandums of understanding.

The Commission’s media office stated in a statement: ‘The team discussed with the competent authorities on the American side ways to facilitate the process of recovering convicts, accused, and smuggled funds and assets.’

It explained that the discussions conducted by the coordination team also included emphasizing the importance of accelerating the conclusion of memorandums of understanding between the Iraqi Integrity Commission and the US Department of Justice on the one hand, and the Iraq Money Recovery Fund and the US Treasury on the other hand.
