Syria gains two bronzes medals and a certificate of appreciation in the 2021 Asian Mathematical Olympiad

Damascus, Syrian Scientific Olympiad team gained two bronze medals and a certificate of appreciation in the 2021 Asian Math Olympiad, which was organized by Indonesia remotely on March 9th and its results were announced today.

Distinction and Creativity Agency said in a statement that the two medals were won by students Al-Hussein Khalil from Tartous and Ali Bakour from Aleppo, while student Muhammad Fouad Al-Maeen from Aleppo received a certificate of appreciation.

This is the 11th participation of the students of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in the Asian Mathematical Olympiad, in which elite of the strongest countries compete.

Syrian Basketball team qualifies for Asia finals after beating Qatar

Damascus, the Syrian national basketball team qualified for Asia finals after beating Qatar with 67-56 points in the match which brought them together in the Jordanian capital of Amman within the third and final window of the qualifiers.

The Syrian basketball team qualified for the upcoming finals in Indonesia by occupying the second place in Group E in the qualifiers with nine points, ahead of the Saudi team.

Syrian national football team beats Guam, leads group A of Asia and World Cup qualifiers

Abu Dhabi, The Syrian national football team topped Group A of the joint qualifiers for the World Cup in Qatar 2022 and the Asian Cup in China 2023 after beating Guam on Monday 3-0 in a match that was held at Sharjah Stadium.

With this result, the Syrian team raised its points to 21 in the first place, followed by China with 11 points.

The Syrian team had earlier qualified for the Asian finals and the decisive role of the World Cup qualifiers after beating Maldives 4-0.

Philippines comes third with 7 points, the Maldives is the fourth with six points and Guam comes in the bottom with no points.

Syrian National Football Team beats Maldivian counterpart 4-0

Sharjah, Syrian National Football Team beat its Maldivian counterpart 4-0 in the match held on Sharjah Football Stadium within the joint qualifiers of 2022 FIFA World Cup of Qatar and 2023 AFC Asian Cup in China.

Three goals were scored by Mahmoud al-Mawas, and one was scored by Ayyaz Othman.

With this result, the Syrian team guaranteed its qualification to 2023 AFC Asian Cup and the decisive round of 2022 FIFA World Cup.

A Saudi Rowing Team member Qualifies for Tokyo Olympiad 2020

Riyadh, A Saudi rowing team member qualified for Tokyo Olympiad 2020.

Hussein Ridha, the Saudi national will represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the competition of the open weight in addition to his teammate Sultan Al-Shali, as a substitute in the Olympics to be hosted in Tokyo from next July 21 to August 7.

This is the first time for a Saudi rowing team member to qualify for an Olympiad.

Syria wins bronze medal in Asian Olympiad for Informatics APIO 2021

Damascus, the Syrian Olympiad for Informatics gained a bronze medal at the Asian Informatics Olympiad 2021.

The medal was won by Bernard George Ibrahimsha, a student of the third year of high school from Aleppo, at the Olympiad organized by Indonesia remotely on May 22nd, with the participation of 845 students representing 35 countries, according to a statement by the Distinctive and Creativity Authority.

The Syrian participation is the thirteenth for the students of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in the Asian Informatics Olympiad in which elite of the most powerful countries in Asia and the Pacific are competing, such as Japan, China, Russia and Iran.

Saudi Arabian Olympic Football Team Holds Camp in Spain in Preparation for Olympics

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia national under-23 football team is scheduled to hold a preparation camp in Marbella, Spain, during the next FIFA days between May 31 and June 15, as part of the fourth stage of the preparation program for the Olympic Games in Tokyo scheduled to kick off in late July.

The national team, during the camp in Spain, is scheduled to play three friendly matches against Australia, Mexico and Argentine.

The Saudi Arabia national under-23 football team plays in the fourth group of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games along with the national teams of Brazil, Germany and Côte d’Ivoire.

Riyadh to Host World Combat Games 2023

Riyadh, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee and Stephen Fox, Vice-President of Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), representing 23 federations, have co-signed a contract under which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will obtain the right to organize the World Combat World Games’ Tournaments in 2023.

The event is an extension of the Kingdom’s moves to host various world games, a matter that turned it into a worldwide recognized forum for sports, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and to promote a vibrant society with a diversified and robust economy.

Saudi Arabia Wins Bronze Award in APIO 2021

Riyadh, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has won a bronze award in the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) 2021, organized virtually by Indonesia.

The Saudi informatics national team’s is making its debut in the Olympiad, with the presence of 35 countries.

Fares bin Ibrahim Basiouni, a student at Education Department of the Royal Commission for Yanbu, won the bronze award among participants representing the most powerful countries in the Asia-Pacific region in the field of informatics, such as Japan, China and Russia.

Meeting of the Executive Office of UNESCO’s International Convention against Doping in Sport Kicks off Today

Riyadh, Riyadh will host today the third meeting of the executive office of the state parties of UNESCO’s International Convention against Doping in Sport “the seventh session”, which will be held over two days.

The meeting will be held in the presence and participation of the secretary general of the convention, UNESCO deputy director general and representatives of the following: World Anti-Doping Agency, International Olympic Committee, Interpol, European Union, African Union, International Center for the Prevention of Crime, and head of approvals in UNESCO convention, in addition to the head of the executive office for UNESCO and deputy sports minister in the Dominican Republic, and deputies of UNESCO director general: Russian minister of sports, Senegal’s minister of sports, advisor of the minister of sports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Chinese deputy minister of sports.

The meeting will go over several agendas that concern developments in the convention, follow up on the application of the 191 state parties to the convention goals, issuing resolutions related to compliance, in addition to discussing the agenda of the main conference scheduled to be held in Paris, UNESCO headquarters, during next October.

Syria participates in Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) 2021

Damascus, Contest of Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) 2021 kicked off on Saturday with participation of Students of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad.

(APIO) 2021 is organized by Indonesia online with participation of 35 countries.

The Distinction and Creativity Commission said in a statement to SANA that all the members of the national team in informatics numbered 33 will participate in this Olympiad through 5 examination centers distributed in the provinces of Aleppo, Damascus, Lattakia, Homs, and Tartous.

The period of tasks will last for 5 successive hours, including high-level programming matters.

This is the thirteenth participation of the students of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad, with participation of countries in Asia and the Pacific, including Japan, China, Russia and Iran.
