Nala Robotics, Saudi Excellence Company Sign an MoU to Bring Robotics Services into Saudi Market

Riyadh– Nala Robotics, the leading company in artificial intelligence technologies in the US, signed today a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Excellence Company to bring robotics services into the Saudi market, on the sidelines of the Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence on its second edition, organized by the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence “SDAIA” at the King Abdulaziz International Center for Conferences in Riyadh from 13 to 15 September.

Under the MoU, Nala Robotics will provide robotics equipment and software necessary to operate them with artificial intelligence to help Saudi food companies achieve more efficiency and speed in production and higher levels of quality. The US-based company will also explore the possibility of establishing a training and development center for artificial intelligence and machine learning products in the Kingdom to serve the Saudi and Arabian food markets.

Head of Artificial Intelligence Technology at the Saudi Excellence Company Omar Mian, said: “This partnership will help us serve international and new customers in the Kingdom, and our company is committed to helping the Saudi food sector achieve the goal of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 of adopting the latest artificial intelligence technologies given the importance of the Kingdom’s location as a center for global trade connecting Asia, Europe, and Africa.”

Minister of Education to Participate in Transforming Education Summit in New York

Riyadh– The Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Mohammad Al Al-Sheikh, will participate tomorrow, in the Transforming Education Summit, which will be held in New York City, USA, and will last from16 to 19 September.
The summit aims to establish a greater political commitment to education as a public good, and to develop a new vision for education in the future, as the summit will include providing innovative solutions to transform education and those solutions into a tangible reality aimed at recovering from the educational gap resulting from the effects of the Corona virus pandemic, and supporting the plans of countries in achieving the sustainable development goals and education-related targets in the 2030 Agenda.
The agenda of the summit includes the Mobilization Day, a day led and organized by a group of young people from different countries of the world, in partnership with a number of stakeholders from international organizations and civil society institutions, and aims to communicate the vision of young people on transforming education to decision and policy makers, and announcing the Youth Statement for the Summit. The summit agenda also includes the activities of the Solutions Day, during which seminars and lectures are held that showcase solutions to transforming education to achieve the sustainable development goals and objectives related to the education sector, with the aim of reaching international partnerships and alliances in this framework.
The work of the Transforming Education Summit concludes on Leaders Day, which focuses on the presentation by the leaders of member states of statements of their countries’ national commitments and holding a number of high-level sessions on the topics of the Summit.

NIC Director: The Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence Saw Signing of Important Local and International Agreements

Riyadh– The Director of the National Information Center (NIC), Dr. Essam Al-Wagait, said that the second edition of the Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence witnessed the signing of several agreements and MoUs that are in the interest of artificial intelligence techniques and their reflection on the service of humanity, with distinguished participation of technology experts from around the world.
In his speech at the conclusion of the summit today, Dr. Al-Wagait reviewed the past three days of the summit, citing the large participation of attendees and speakers that enriched the summit.
“The summit celebrated the joint electronic creativity between humans and machines, as the winners of this year’s Artificial Intelligence Artathon were announced, which is a distinguished international experience in the art of artificial intelligence,” he said.
Dr. Al-Wagait expressed his appreciation to the attendees, for their active participation in what he described as the largest and most important event in artificial intelligence, and the most influential in the world. He also thanked the knowledge and technology partners for their important role in the success of the summit.

Omani Minister of Housing and Urban Planning Reviews Experience of Real Estate Development Fund

Riyadh, Sep. 13, 2022, SPA — The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning of the Sultanate of Oman Dr. Khalfan bin Sa`id Al-Shuaili, praised the results and achievements of the housing support programs of the Real Estate Development Fund, citing that the achievements in a short period of time indicate the existence of a comprehensive national vision in the Kingdom.
This came during his visit and his accompanying delegation to the Real Estate Development Fund in Riyadh, where he was received by the CEO of the Real Estate Development Fund Mansour bin Madi.
The Omani minister stressed that the comprehensive qualitative leap that the Kingdom is witnessing in various fields is an opportunity for joint cooperation between the two sides, in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the Sultanate of Oman’s 2040 vision, praising the digital transformation of the Real Estate Fund and the diversification of options for housing support programs in enabling citizens to own housing.
During the meeting, the Omani delegation was briefed on a visual presentation of the Real Estate Fund’s experience in empowering about 1.5 million beneficiaries since its establishment in 1974 in various regions of the Kingdom and the transformation phase in its strategy in June 2017.

SDAIA, KAUST Announce Establishment of Center of Excellence in Data Science and AI

This came on the sidelines of the “Global AI Summit” in Riyadh, which is organized by the SDAIA during the period of September 13-15, 2022.

Spokesperson of 22nd Arab Radio and Television Festival Says that the Kingdom’s Hosting of the Festival Aims to Raise the Level of Arab Content and Communication

Riyadh, Sep. 13, 2022, SPA –The spokesperson of the 22nd Arab Radio and Television Festival Bandar Al-Hassan affirmed that the Kingdom’s hosting of the festival aims to raise the level of Arab content, whether audio or visual, and to facilitate means of communication among the participating parties of the Arab federations, radios and televisions, in addition to innovations that contribute to the development of Arab radio and television production.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he explained that this exceptional session is being organized in Riyadh for the first time during the period from 7 to 10 November at Riyadh Hilton, with the participation of international bodies, institutions and unions, such as the World Broadcasting Union (WBU), the Asian Broadcasting Union (ABU), the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and major media institutions from the United Kingdom, Italy and Spain, in addition to the presence of more than 1,000 media professionals from all over the world, pointing out to the importance of the great role of the Kingdom at various levels, including the media and communication field.
He added that there are many events that will accompany the festival, including workshops, meetings, and an exhibition that includes producing companies, radio and television channels, production technology providers and producers in the Arab world and the region.

Ministry of Finance Signs Number of Financing Agreements with Several Local Banks Amounting to SAR 25Bn to Execute Various Infrastructure Projects Arranged by National Debt Management Center

Riyadh– The Ministry of Finance signs a number of financing agreements with several local banks amounting to SAR 25Bn to execute various infrastructure projects scheduled to start in 2023 and 2024 to expedite the implementation of these projects.
The National Debt Management Center arranged those financings in accordance with the Ministry of Finance aim towards enabling and supporting strategic infrastructure projects in line with the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision.

Under Patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Saudi Arabia to Host 46th Ordinary Session of Council of Arab Central Banks, Monetary Authorities Governors next Sunday, Monday

Riyadh– Under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Central Bank “SAMA”, is scheduled to host the 46th Ordinary Session of the Council of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities Governors and the Roundtable on “Central Bank Digital Currencies and the Future of the Monetary System” on Sunday and Monday September 18 and 19, 2022 in Jeddah.
The meeting will witness a wide participation by senior officials from the International Monetary Fund and Financial Stability Board, as well as experts from international institutions and global central banks.
On the occasion, Saudi Central Bank Governor Dr. Fahad Al-Mubarak praised the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the meeting that is part of the wise leadership’s interest and keenness to support and provide success elements for the joint Arab action, stressing the importance of this meeting in light of what the region and the entire world are witnessing of quick developments in all fields, mainly in the economic and financial sectors.
He also expressed appreciation for efforts made by the Secretariat of the Council of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities affiliated with the Arab Monetary Fund, to follow up on subjects, developments and preparations for the council meeting, and to follow up on the works of affiliated committees and work teams.
Meanwhile, governors of the central banks and monetary authorities will go over a slew of subjects, mainly the global inflation wave and its repercussions on monetary policies in the Arab world, risks of climate change on the financial sector and banking services sector, challenges for shifting towards green finance, in addition to requirements and challenges of rebuilding capital and liquidity margins at the banking sector after lifting support.
The agenda of the session also includes acquainting governors with reports about the works of committees and work teams of the council, in addition to going over the 5th issue of the financial stability report in Arab countries for 2022, the 2022 unified Arab economic report, and a briefing about the 2022 unified Arab speech that the Arab group will deliver at the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group in October, 2022, which reflects the visions of Arab states towards current economic developments.

During Global AI Summit 2022… Saudi Electricity Company Signs Memorandums of Understanding with Microsoft, Udacity, DataRobot

Riyadh– On the sidelines of participation in the second edition of the Global AI Summit, the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has signed memorandums of understanding with Microsoft, Udacity and DataRobot.
The memorandum signed with Microsoft aims to sustain and enhance skills in artificial intelligence (AI), while the memorandum of understanding with Udacity aims to develop skills according to learning paths in the areas of digital transformation and AI.
The third memorandum was also signed with DataRobot to develop learning and implement smart solutions using AI.
These partnerships enhance SEC’s efforts in AI in line with SEC’s digital transformation strategy.

Postgraduates Studies Students from 6 Countries Representing Most Prestigious Global Institutes, Universities Thirsty for Knowledge at 2nd Global AI Summit

Riyadh– Several postgraduates studies students from the most prestigious global institutes and universities joined the 2nd Global AI Summit, which started its second day at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh.
The students represent the USA, UK, India, Jordan, Algeria and South Korea, who are studying at top institutes and universities, such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, King’s College London, Paris-Sorbonne University, and University of Oxford in London.
The visit is part of the keenness of the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA) in attracting global capabilities in AI, enhancing the role of distinguished youth and empowering them as per the Saudi Vision 2030.
The initiative aims at engaging the visiting students in knowledge-exchange dialogues to explore opportunities for future cooperation and acquainting them with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts in entrepreneurship of AI and data field, and the journey of the sector during a trip that will be led by Saudi students with their foreign counterparts.
The summit, in its second version, is considered an annual platform that brings together leaders of thought, creative people, decision makers, experts, specialists and academia in the public and private sector from across the globe, in addition to leading tech companies, investors and businesspeople to discuss the future of AI in miscellaneous fields.

Second Plane of Saudi Relief Airlift Loaded with 90 Tons of Relief Items Arrives in Pakistan to Support Flood Victims

Karachi, Pakistan– The second airlift relief plane, dispatched by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) arrived in Karachi, Pakistan, today, carrying 90 tons of food, shelter and medical assistance to support flood-affected people throughout the country. The urgent aid, which will benefit 9,500 people, was sent according to a directive from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to provide emergency assistance following the recent heavy rains and devastating flooding which have killed and injured thousands of people and forced many thousands more to flee their homes.
This airlift is a part of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to providing urgent support to countries facing crises such as the one being experienced in Pakistan. To date, KSrelief has implemented 2,086 humanitarian projects in 86 countries, saving and improving the lives of millions of people in need.
