“Over the more than a decade that I have worked with the Soros Justice Fellowships, I’ve seen a great number of fellows go on and continue to serve as changemakers in their local communities, and nationally,” said Adam Culbreath, Senior Team Manager at Open Society–U.S. “This is an incredibly unique program to advance justice in the U.S., which supports the notion that change often happens from the ground up.

“Mass incarceration has an enormous and disastrous toll on our communities and represents one of the most glaring injustices of our nation. Today, nearly 10 million Americans—including millions of children—have an immediate family member in jail or prison,” said Christina Voight, program manager at Open Society–U.S. “Each Soros Justice Fellow can play a role in changing this broken system.”

Each fellow will receive stipends ranging from $100,000 to $140,000 for projects lasting between 12 and 18 months to ensure accountability in the U.S. criminal justice system by developing new ways to combat mass incarceration, youth criminalization, surveillance, immigration policies, racial disparities, and police violence. The Soros Justice Fellowships were founded in 1997 and have funded over 400 individuals working to curb mass incarceration and ensure a fair and equitable system of justice.

Innovations improve field productivity and subcontractor management for better cost and schedule certainty

Newest enhancements to InEight’s construction project management platform bring better forecasting accuracy, improved field collaboration, and more visibility and control over subcontractor performance.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Jan. 31, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — InEight Inc., a global leader in construction capital project management software, has announced its latest suite of software innovations, which are designed to increase forecasting accuracy, field productivity, and subcontractor management.

These latest updates provide contractors with a higher level of forecasting accuracy based on up-to-date project progress, including subcontractor activity. This allows for quick reactions to financial and productivity challenges, providing greater confidence to project owners.

Uncertain economic conditions and disruptions in the construction supply chain are putting increased pressure on contractors and owner/operators to produce accurate project forecasts. InEight is building on its already strong legacy in cost forecasting with significant new capabilities in the areas of time-phased forecasting, custom forecasting methods, and resource-based forecasts.

In addition to out-of-the-box forecast methods, InEight users can now configure the best equations to automate forecast calculations for the different types of work through different stages of completion. “There is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to forecasting, even within a single project,” says John Upton, Director Project Cost Management at InEight. “InEight helps contractors and owners better capture field data and measure progress,”

The platform enhancements also drive increased productivity through more efficient collaboration between the office and the field. Scope and quantities, productivity goals, and more are easily communicated in daily digital plans to field crews and subcontractors. Controlled transparency allows teams to identify and troubleshoot challenges. This leads to a higher level of profitability potential.

Additionally, InEight made it easier to get full visibility into subcontractor costs. With line of sight to both committed and uncommitted costs, users can compare the variance between the planned cost and the actual costs.

“Our goal is to connect scope, cost, and schedule on a single platform, giving project stakeholders the ability to collaborate effectively and deliver projects with predictable results,” comments Brad Barth, Chief Product Officer at InEight.

The Carlton James Group first-backed technology company The Coretec Group (OTCQB: CRTG) goes from strength to strength following the release of its video demonstrating the process and market potential for Endurion, its Lithium-ion based silicon battery program

The Coretec Group’s development of its own unique chemical materials shows unicorn potential with their Endurion battery. Releasing an explainer video that shows that the battery has the potential to significantly increase longevity, speed of charge, and storage capacity of lithium batteries. This complementary technology could revolutionise the battery sector without the need for a complete overhaul of the industry.

The Coretec Group is aiming its resources at the Electric Vehicle (EV) market place and as a result is gaining the attention worldwide of major EV manufacturers.  Heavy reliance on batteries for future sustainability is driving the global lithium silicon battery market, one that is estimated to grow from $10m USD in 2022 to $247m USD by 2030. This growth is why investment in complementary technology is a core objective of the Carlton James Diversified Alpha Fund strategy.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT, United Kingdom, Dec. 16, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Carlton James Group, an investment management group specialising in recession-resistant portfolios and venture debt, is excited to see its first-backed technology company, The Coretec Group, achieving yet another of its milestones with the successful progress of its Endurion lithium silicon battery program. To learn more about The Coretec Group, please watch this short informative video.

The Coretec (CRTG) journey with the Carlton James Group started in 2016, as The Coretec Group became the first major technology sector lending investment for Carlton James. From the very beginning, Carlton James Group saw the clear potential of the engineering expertise within The Coretec Group, and its potential for adding value to the EV and energy supply chain.

Since then, The Coretec Group has gone from strength to strength, with acquisitions, a reverse-merger, and a growing team of engineers, expanding the expertise of their unique chemical developments. This has enabled more research & development to be undertaken by The Coretec Group in this extremely high value sector.

The launch of its Endurion battery program in early 2022 saw a natural progression that has led to contact from some of the world’s leading electric vehicle manufacturers, opening doors for The Coretec Group to become leaders in the field of EV lithium silicon battery technology. In the first quarter of 2023 it is expected that we should see this hard work on the battery lead to further validation in the industry and a strengthened patent portfolio, paving the way for the group to move forward with its partnerships in the EV marketplace.

“The Coretec Group shares our vision of the most effective way to bring new technologies into the market. By developing technology that can enhance existing products in the market you have accessible scalability across many sectors,” said Bob Pain, Chairman of The Carlton James Group.

“It is important to us that any technology investment we make is easily adopted and complementary to the existing marketplace, therefore increasing the opportunity for a higher return on investment due to having more potential customers. This is what The Coretec Group is doing. You can see this from their overview video, which is a great way of learning what they do and understanding its market opportunity.’’

Energy Expert: These Are the Results of Reducing Oil Production for Iraq

Baghdad An economic expert in the field of energy, Bilal Al-Khalifa, confirmed: “The decision to reduce the production of (OPEC +) … will lead to an increase in prices … and a new financial abundance for Iraq.”

In a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), he said: “The political factors, especially those related to the Russian-Ukrainian war, raised the price of oil from 73 to nearly $100 per barrel, in addition to the natural factors .”

Al-Khalifa added: “The decision of (OPEC +) to reduce production is not the first, it started since the Corona pandemic, and today it has reached two million barrels. This means that the price of a barrel has risen to 120 dollars after it witnessed a decrease to 83 dollars during the last period.”

He explained: “Any increase in the price of oil as a result of a reduction or something else is important for Iraq by increasing the financial abundance, since the price of a barrel of oil for the next budget will be 75 dollars, which will lead to reducing the deficit and ending it in the future whenever the price is high.”

The “OPEC +” alliance decided in its meeting in Vienna today to reduce production by two million barrels of oil per day, starting next month.
