Minister of Culture Meets with German Minister of State for Culture

Magelang– Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, has met with Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Culture of the Federal Republic of Germany Claudia Benedikta Roth, on the sidelines of the G20 Ministers of Culture’s meeting hosted by the Republic of Indonesia.
During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues including the implementation of joint cultural programs between the two sides, such as talent exchange programs between artistic and cultural institutions, which aim to build capacities, transfer experience and introduce the cultures of the two friendly countries.
The meeting was attended by a number of officials.

Minister of Culture Meets with Minister of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia

Magelang– Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, has met with Minister of Culture and Fine Arts of the Kingdom of Cambodia Phoeurng Sackona, on the sidelines of the G20 Ministers of Culture’s meeting hosted by the Republic of Indonesia.
During the meeting, they discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in preserving heritage through the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM). They also discussed cooperation in cultural fields between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, Minister of Culture invited the Cambodian minister to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to explore the Saudi cultural scene and learn about its culture and people as well as its most prominent heritage features. He also invited the Cambodian artists and intellectuals to participate in the festivals held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

HRSD Announces Launch of RFP for Phase 2 of the Social Case Surveying Project

Riyadh– The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD), supported by the National Center for Privatization and PPP (NCP), announced today the launch of the RFP for Phase 2 of the Social Case Surveying Project. The project is being tendered as a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) transaction in alignment with the PSP Law and its Implementing Regulations.
MHRSD stated that the Project will serve beneficiaries in 11 regions across the Kingdom, with the exception of Riyadh and Hail, through a five-year contract. The Project seeks to cover a wider number of beneficiaries in the conducted surveys, thereby raising the quality of services provided and improve customer experience. The Project will entail conducting one survey per year for approximately two million existing and potential new beneficiaries of Social Services.
MHRSD clarified that the project will be divided into three contracts; the first contract includes Makkah region, Northern Borders region, Al Jouf region and Tabuk region; while the second contract covers the Eastern region, Najran region and Asir region.
The third contract covers Madinah Region, Qassim region, Jazan region, Baha region. The Ministry will be conducting a bidders’ pre-bid conference for private sector participants on October 4, 2022 to answer inquiries and questions about the Project. In addition, the Ministry confirmed that interested parties should request the
RFP and submit a letter of intention before October 11, 2022.
This is the second phase of the Project being launched in partnership with the private sector after the completion of the first phase covering the Riyadh and Hail regions. MHRSD invites interested applicants to view the RFP document by visiting the NCP website. The last day to submit a proposal will be December 1, 2022.

Yemeni Minister of Defense Visits Joint Forces Command of Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen

Riyadh– The Yemeni Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen bin Muhammad Al-Daari, visited here today the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, where he was received by the Commander of the Joint Forces and Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Gen. Mutlaq bin Salim Al-Azima.
The visit comes within the framework of permanent coordination and continuous support from the coalition countries, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to achieve the desired goals and aspirations of the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership.
The meeting was attended by a number of commanders in the Joint Forces Command.

Ministry of Transport and Logistics Signs MoU with SDAIA in AI Applications and Advanced Analytics

Riyadh– Minister of Transport and Logistics, Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, and the President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, signed here today a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in advanced analytics and artificial intelligence applications in the transport and logistics sector.

The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the second edition of the Global AI Summit, held at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh from 13-15 September.

The memorandum aims to expand the use and employment of data and artificial intelligence in the transport and logistics sector by developing the uses of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence algorithms in several areas that include multimodal transport modeling and forecasting future demand, improving mobility and service efficiency and enhancing the integration of transportation and supply chain patterns, in addition to behavioral and demographic studies of users of transport patterns.

Eng. Al-Falih Stresses the Importance of Promoting and Enabling Communication in Government and Private Sectors in KAS and Oman

Riyadh– Saudi-Omani Investment Roundtable discussion was held today, attended by the Minister of Investment, Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, on the sidelines of the visit of the Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Qais bin Mohammed Al-Yousef and his accompanying delegation to the Kingdom, with the participation of government sector officials, and representatives of the private sector and companies from both sides.
During the meeting, Eng. Al-Falih stressed the importance of strengthening and enabling communication between the private sector in the two countries, and the relevant government agencies in all sectors to develop and protect mutual investments, help find solutions to the challenges facing investors, explore viable investment opportunities on a continuous and sustainable basis and remove any obstacles that may limit the growth of intra-regional trade between the Kingdom and Oman.
The minister underlined the distinguished relations between the two countries by supporting mutual investment relations and developing the opportunities available on both sides.

“iotsquared” and “Matarat” Collaborate to Support Innovation in Internet of Things and AI

Riyadh– iot squared, owned by the Public Investment Fund and stc Group, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Matarat Holding Company which aims to enhance joint cooperation in the field of enriching the technical structure and platforms, as well as the applications of the internet of things, AI, and drone technologies.
The MoU was signed by CEO of iotsquared Othman Aldahash and Matarat VP of Digital and Technology Yaagoup AlNujaidi.
Through this memorandum of understanding, “iotsquared” in cooperation with “Matarat” seek to enhance the digital infrastructure of airports by supporting internet of things and AI applications that enhance the operational efficiency of airports in addition to contributing to raising the level of safety for travelers and enriching their experience.

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Affirms the Importance of Advanced Manufacturing and Artificial Intelligence in the Fields of Industry and Mining

Riyadh– Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Ibrahim Al-Khorayef stressed the importance of advanced manufacturing and artificial intelligence in the field of industry and mining as well as their role in supporting and increasing productivity, indicating that advanced manufacturing and artificial intelligence in the fields of industry and mining contribute to improving reliability, enhancing employee safety, and making our industries more sustainable.
This came during his speech at the plenary session held today on the role of advanced manufacturing and artificial intelligence in the field of industry and mining within 2nd Global AI Summit which is organized by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) at the headquarters of King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh during the period September, 13-15.
He disclosed that the Kingdom has more than 10,000 factories, which constitute 11% of the country’s GDP, with an annual growth rate of 10%.
“Advanced manufacturing and artificial intelligence-based technologies are no longer an option, but a reality that cannot be bypassed to ensure growth and profitability. In the past, factories were able to achieve all the benefits of different technologies by simply working with technology providers to prepare new solutions in their facilities,” he said.
With regard to the role of governments in building the ecosystem, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources indicated that governments are expected to participate more today in enabling the adoption of these advanced technologies, by providing advanced digital infrastructure and advanced applications.
He also affirmed the Kingdom’s determination to enhance the outcomes of research, development and innovation. In this regard, a new research, development and innovation authority was established to achieve this goal.

MoU Promotes Adoption of Digital Technology and Supports Sustainable Cities in the Kingdom on the Sidelines of Global AI Summit

Riyadh– Honeywell company has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Internet of Things Technology Company, the joint venture between the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Saudi Telecom Company Group (stc), with the aim of supporting the fields of sustainable cities, logistics platforms and technologies that lead the digital transformation process in the Kingdom.
The memorandum was signed during the 2nd Global AI Summit, which is being organized by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh.
The MoU seeks to support the goals related to developing smart cities and the adoption of technology in society in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. It also paves the way for Honeywell in its journey towards developing Internet of Things (IoT) projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed expanding the existing cooperation between the two friendly countries, the investment opportunities available in the two countries’ markets, and supporting the growth of the digital economy.
The two sides also discussed strengthening cooperation within the framework of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) to achieve the goals of the organization and the aspirations of member states.

Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Underscores Kingdom’s Vision 2030 Achievements in Labor Sector

Riyadh– Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Al-Rajhi headed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation participating in the meeting of the G20 Ministers of Labor and Employment, which was held in the Republic of Indonesia under the theme “Improving the Employment Condition to Recover Together”, with the participation of several Ministers of Labor and Employment of the G20 member states as well as representatives of the guest countries, and heads of international and regional organizations.
The minister, in his speech at the event, stressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s support for the priorities of the Indonesian presidency, which aim to promote decent jobs for people with disabilities, develop human capabilities, create sustainable job opportunities, and adapt labor protection for more effective and flexible protection, adding that these priorities require unifying and coordinating efforts to reach the prosperity and recovery of labor markets from the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
