Environment Minister Receives FAO Director General

Riyadh, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fadley, at his office today, received Director General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Dr. Qu Dongyu.

The two sides discussed cooperation aspects and several topics related to food security and sustainable management of water and natural resources.

Al-Fadley stressed the importance of cooperation between the ministry and FAO in the fields of food security and protecting natural and environment resources.

For his part, Dr. Dongyu praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s initiatives to protect the environment and support regional and global food security, as well as the substantial aid it provides to nations experiencing the effects of climate change, such as floods and drought.

He also stressed that the technical cooperation program between the ministry and FAO is one of the most significant country cooperation programs in the region, emphasizing the significance of cooperation between FAO and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting agricultural development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
