Riyadh, Mar. 28, 2022, SPA– The Union des Français à l’Etranger (UFE), in cooperation with the French Embassy in the Kingdom, and the Mass Participation Officer in the Saudi Golf Company, held the first open golf tournament at Dirab Golf & Country Club, with the participation of more than 100 players of different nationalities, including Saudi and French businessmen operating in the Kingdom, as well as players from the Saudi golf team.
Tournament competitions are played in the format of “Texas Scramble – Four-Ball Best Ball” which encourages beginners to gain knowledge and techniques in playing and improve their golf skills and background.
The winners of the tournament were crowned by the French Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ludovic Pouille, and UFE President Felipe Coral, who achieved first place according to the game rules despite being equal with second place, the four-team consisting of “Bouchaib El Jadiani, Hakim Hank, Mark Day and Rachel Robinson” with a total of 58 points. Anthony Fuentes, Vincent Pallas, Fabrice Fedele and Nicolas Soferale came second with a total of 58 points,. Meanwhile, Laurent Dyer, Alexandra Dyer, Donald Estefli, and Angela Estefli took third place with 60 points.
The French Ambassador thanked the President of the Saudi Golf Federation and President of the Saudi Golf Company Yasser bin Othman Al-Rumayyan for the joint cooperation that contributed to the success of the tournament, extending his appreciation to the management of Dirab Club.
Pouille said: “This outstanding success encouraged us to hold this tournament annually to contribute to enriching the Saudi golf sport and developing the knowledge and capabilities of players by playing with experienced people. Once again, the Kingdom is proceeding with care, excellence and aspiration to provide more impressive sports progress with great government support,” citing the successful and large attendance at the Dakar Rally, European golf tours, Formula 1, and other international sporting events.
