Gambia President Receives OIC Secretary General

Jeddah: President of the Republic of The Gambia Adama Barrow received today Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha in Banjul on the sidelines of the 15th Session of the Islamic Summit Conference.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation between The Gambia and OIC, and the preparations for the Heads of State and Government Summit, slated for May 4-5.

OIC Secretary-General congratulated The Gambia on the outstanding preparations and facilitations put in place for the summit, underlining the organization’s ongoing efforts to ensure the success of the conference. He also highlighted the pivotal role of The Gambia within OIC.

With The Gambia assuming the presidency of the 15th Islamic Summit Conference, President Barrow voiced commitment to the principles and objectives of OIC and in working towards enhancing unity and solidarity among the organization’s member states to address common challenges.
