GCC Secretary General Welcomes Reaching Truce in Gaza Strip

Riyadh, The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf welcomed here today reaching a truce, in Gaza Strip, following 11-day, that the strip was under the aggression of the Israeli occupation forces, resulting in a great number of martyrs, the injured, destruction of facilities, schools, houses and the infrastructure, in the strip.

He reaffirmed that what the strip has witnessed of escalation and aggressions demands a world stance to revive the peace endeavor and reach a just solution for the Palestinian cause, based on the international references, Arab initiative, the two-state solution and establishing the independent Palestinian state, with Al-Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital.

Dr. Al-Hajraf lauded the Arab-Islamic move to confront Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, valuing the UN General Assembly special session and appreciating the efforts exerted by Egypt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Tunisia and the UN Secretary General.
