Head of the Foreign Ministry’s Asian and Pacific Ocean Affairs Sector, Ambassador Fatima Abdullah Faris Al Dhaen, chaired today a work team’s high-profile online meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Forum. It was attended by ACD Secretary General, Dr. Pornchai Danvivathana, and representatives of the member states.
The meeting spotlighted the “Declaration of Bahrain” and the remarks of the member states about it, in preparation for the declaration of the 18th ministerial meeting which will convene under the presidency of the Kingdom of Bahrain this year, under the slogan “Post-pandemic Sustainable Recovery”.
Ambassador Al Dhaen voiced the kingdom’s appreciation to all the member states for their continuous support and active contribution during the kingdom’s presidency of the current session of the dialogue 2021-2023. She stressed Bahrain’s support to Asia Cooperation Dialogue Forum out of belief in the capabilities of the Asian continent and the benefits of joint action to share experiences.
The Kingdom of Bahrain is one of the founding members of the forum, based on a belief in dialogue as a developing process in which the Asian decision makers exchange views and experiences to build strategic relations between the Asian countries and regional blocs.
Comprising 35 Asian member states, ACD was set up in 2002 to boost Asian cooperation and promote relations between the Asian regional organisations, broaden trade and financial markets in Asia and boost competitiveness with the rest of the world.
