Health Minister, Syrian counterpart discuss bilateral health cooperation

Health Minister, Jaleela bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan, today met her Syrian counterpart, Dr. Hassan Muhammad Al-Ghabash, on the sidelines of the 75th World Health Assembly (WHA), held here on May 21-30.

The minister stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in all fields, particularly health, calling for the need to intensify cooperation with all countries of the region through the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, in order to carry on developing and improving the performance of health systems, as well as raising their efficiency in a sustainable manner.

The two ministers discussed topics of mutual interest, including areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as the exchange of medical expertise and experiences.

The latest regional and global health developments were also reviewed.

The Syrian Health Minister expressed deepest thanks and appreciation to the kingdom for its ongoing cooperation with his country.

He also praised the tremendous efforts being made by Bahrain to develop the health sector, citing its keenness to implement health plans initiatives aimed at developing healthcare services.
