Heritage Commission to Cooperate with Japan’s Kanazawa University


Riyadh: The Saudi Heritage Commission today signed a scientific cooperation agreement with Kanazawa University in Japan for archaeological survey work at prehistoric sites in Al-Jouf and Tabuk.

Heritage Commission CEO Dr. Jasser Suleiman Al-Harbash attended the signing at the commission’s headquarters in the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh.

The agreement is part of the Heritage Commission’s ongoing efforts to expand its fieldwork and archaeological surveys across the Kingdom, prepare and rehabilitate archaeological sites, and enhance its distinguished scientific partnerships with specialized international universities and scientific centers.

Through the agreement, the commission aims to provide more scientific data on prehistoric sites and track pastoral patterns in Al-Jouf and Tabuk.

The agreement will involve conducting scientific field studies, expanding the dissemination of the results of archaeological surveys and excavations, and attracting distinguished scientific expertise.
