Hotel Revenues Exceed RO 73 Million in March 2023

The revenues of 3-5 star hotels in the Sultanate of Oman recorded a rise by 49.9% at the end of March 2023 to reach RO 73.319 million compared to the corresponding period in 2022, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The number of 3-5 star hotels’ guests stood at 522,753, comprising an increase by 25.6% till the end of March 2023 compared to 416,287 guests during the same period in 2022. Occupancy rate stood at 56.4%.

The number of guests from Oceania recorded a significant surge by 210.2% from 4,049 guests by the end of March 2022 to 12,558 guests by the end of March 2023. Asian guests also recorded a rise of 53.4%, going from 42,157 guests by the end of March 2022 to 64,686 guests by the end of March 2023. Guests from the African continent stood at 2,899 guests, constituting a rise by 43.5% compared to March 2022.

The number of European guests stood at 169,334 guests by the end of March 2023, comprising a rise by 41.8% compared to March 2022. Moreover, the number of Arab and other guests by the end of March 2023 stood at 21,639, comprising a rise by 38.1% compared to March 2022. A rise of 30.9% was recorded by the GCC guests, whose number jumped from 25,228 by the end of March 2022 to 33,021 by the end of March 2023.

Further, American guests stood at 17,053, going up by 6.4% compared to the same period in 2022. Meanwhile, the number of Omani guests declined by 1.5% from 184,060 by the end of March 2022 to 181,369 guests by the end of March 2023.
