Ihsan Al-Shammari to / NINA /: The outcomes of Baghdad Conference / 2 came in support of Iraq, its unity, stability and sovereignty

Baghdad The Head of the Center for Political Thinking, Ihsan Al-Shammari, confirmed that the outcomes of the Baghdad Conference / 2, which was held yesterday in Jordan, came in support of Iraq, its unity, stability and sovereignty.

Al-Shammari said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that “the final statement yesterday is not much different from the nature of the outputs of the first conference held in Baghdad for cooperation and partnership, in terms of support for Iraq, and the official attendance of the countries yesterday was greater than the previous conference.”

He explained that translating the outputs into practical reality is the most important current and future for Iraq, and it must find its way to implementation, especially with regard to the challenges that Iraq suffers from, and to prevent the violation of sovereignty, by military operations by Iran and Turkey, and water security, with those countries, in addition to partnerships with the countries participating in the conference.

Al-Shammari pointed out that achieving the goal of the conference and its success is linked to the implementation of its outputs on the ground, which is to fully support Iraq.

He pointed out that the countries present at the conference are divided between those who do not want to implement the conference’s outputs, and their presence formally, and other countries that support Iraq, such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan and France, and this matter affects the implementation of the conference’s outputs.

Yesterday, Jordan hosted the Baghdad 2 conference, and the participants in the second Baghdad conference affirmed their support for Iraq and their stand with it in confronting terrorism and all challenges.

In their final statement, the participants renewed their condemnation of extremism and terrorism in all its forms, and their support for Iraq in its efforts to consolidate the state of the constitution and the law, and to achieve comprehensive development.

The participants also stressed the importance of the cooperation mechanism among Iraq, Egypt and Jordan, and the importance of cooperation projects between Iraq and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
