India expresses its readiness to support Iraq in all fields

The National Security Adviser, Qasim Al-Araji, held a meeting in New Delhi today, Friday, with his Indian counterpart, Ajit Doval.

A statement issued by Al-Araji’s office stated that the meeting discussed friendship and strategic interests between Iraq and India, and ways to develop them at all levels, as the Indian side expressed its willingness to support Iraq in all fields, and to conclude memorandums of understanding and coordination between Iraqi and Indian institutions, at the political, security, and military levels, as well as the fields of energy and health, noting that Iraq is a peace-loving country that aspires for progress, and it is important to establish strategic partnerships between the two countries.

“The meeting witnessed an exchange of the two countries’ vision in building a strategic relationship that serves common interests,” the statement said.

The Indian side also announced its readiness to take over the Indian industries in partnerships with their Iraqi counterparts in the fields of training, institutional building and development, and the possibility of opening joint lines with Iraq in the field of various industries.

Qassem Al-Araji arrived, earlier today, in the Indian capital, New Delhi, on an official visit.
