Baghdad The Intelligence and Security Service arrested a terrorist element in Babylon and (6) others on charges of drug trafficking in Diwaniyah and Muthanna.
A statement by the Intelligence Directorate stated that, according to accurate intelligence information, detachments of the Babylon Intelligence and Security Directorate affiliated to the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security arrested a member of ISIS terrorist gangs according to the provisions of Article (1/4) of terrorism, and the arrest came through an elaborate ambush carried out at one of the entrances to Babylon Governorate.
The statement added that the detachments of the Diwaniyah Intelligence and Security Directorate, in cooperation with its drug affairs division, managed to arrest five suspects who were involved in the promotion and trafficking of narcotic substances in the center of the city of Diwaniyah.
In the same context, detachments of the Muthanna Intelligence and Security Directorate arrested one of those wanted by the judiciary in accordance with Article (28) narcotics, and the arrest took place in the Warka district of Al-Muthanna Governorate, in coordination with the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs.
