Jordanian Government Calls for Restraint Amid Regional Tensions

Amman, The Jordanian government has appealed to all parties to exercise restraint and handle regional tensions with restraint and responsibly, and avoid any actions that could dangerously escalate the situation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

At a session chaired today by Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, the Jordanian Cabinet stressed the need to de-escalate the situation, and urged all parties to act responsibly and with utmost self-restraint.

It also said it is important to address the risks posed to the region by any escalation, which could have significant repercussions on international peace and security.

The Jordanian Cabinet said foreign objects that entered the country’s airspace last night were intercepted to safeguard the safety of citizens and residential areas. While fragments from these objects landed in various locations, there were no reports of significant material damage or injuries.
