Riyadh, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation announced a new collaboration to protect children from polio and reduce poverty.

The two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation on Sunday, aiming to protect 370 million children annually from polio, and lift millions of people out of poverty in 33 member countries of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).

The signing ceremony took place in Riyadh on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum’s special meeting. It was attended by Adviser to the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the KSrelief Abdullah Al Rabeeah, and Co-Chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Bill Gates.

The LLF focuses on poverty alleviation in 33 IsDB member states through
investments in strengthening primary healthcare, combating preventable diseases, supporting small farmers and rural agriculture, and improving basic infrastructure.
