Kyrgyz President Receives GCC Secretary General

Bishkek, August 3, 2022, SPA – Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov today received Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf in Kyrgyz Capital City Bishkek, as part of Dr. Al-Hajraf’s tour to republics of the Central Asia region.

During the reception, Dr. Al-Hajraf and President Japarov highlighted the importance of enhancing close partnership between GCC and Kyrgyzstan at all levels, discussed the latest developments and exchanged views on the regional and international updates. They also went over aspects of relations and opportunities to enhance cooperation in various vital sectors and the importance of enhancing relations in a way that serves joint interests of the two sides.

Later on, the GCC secretary general and Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev signed a joint memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation relations between GCC countries and Kyrgyzstan in all fields.

The two sides also held a bilateral official discussions session that reviewed several international and regional issues and efforts exerted to address them, fields of joint cooperation and the multiple and miscellaneous opportunities to enhance cooperation between the two sides.
