Mandalawi Confirms The Inclusion Of Financial Allocations Related To Dams In The Budget Law

First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, confirmed today, Wednesday, the inclusion of financial allocations related to dams in the Federal Financial Budget Law.

The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a statement, “Al-Mandalawi received the Director General of the General Authority for Dams and Reservoirs, Ali Radi Thamer, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of MP, Hammam Al-Tamimi, to discuss the file of rehabilitation and construction of dams and the obstacles facing the functioning of the authority, for what dams and water reservoirs represent”, which have great importance in enhancing the country’s water reserves.

The statement added, “Al-Mandalawi called on the authority, in coordination with the Ministry of Planning and other concerned authorities, to prepare an accurate study for the rehabilitation and construction of new dams and to determine the reasons for the delay in completion, provided that the study includes setting estimated costs, time ceilings, and technical details for the establishment of each project and a feasibility study for each project.” explained that “the First Deputy made a direct phone call with the Minister of Water Resources, to discuss the need to include financial allocations related to dams in the budget law, especially the construction of the (Valley of Oil) dam in the Mandali district.”

Al-Mandalawi stressed the importance of “maintaining or increasing allocations in the new budget, which contributes to strengthening water storage and reflects positively on the agricultural sector, the provision of drinking water and groundwater recharge.”:/ End
