Masrour Barzani and the British Secretary of State stress the importance of protecting security and stability in Iraq and the Kurdistan region

Baghdad The PM of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, spoke by phone, Thursday evening, with the British Minister of State for Middle East and South Asian Affairs and the United Nations, Lord Tariq Ahmed.

A statement by the regional government stated: The two sides stressed the importance of protecting security and stability in Iraq and the Kurdistan region.

The Prime Minister referred to the development in relations between the Kurdistan region and the United Kingdom, especially in the areas of security cooperation, education, trade and investment. The PM also commended the technical assistance provided by the United Kingdom in electronic transformation related to public services and tax reform.

The Prime Minister also touched on exporting agricultural products and crops from Halabja and Zakho to the UAE and other Gulf countries.

The two sides agreed that Britain could support the regional government in the field of global food supplies and investment in banks.
