One person was killed and 64 injured in the earthquake that hit the city of Izmir, western Turkey

Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced that one person was killed and 64 were injured in the earthquake that hit the city of Izmir, western Turkey, on Friday morning.

The Turkish Minister of Health said that seven of the injured are still receiving treatment in the city’s hospitals, while the rest left after receiving first aid.

The city of Izmir was hit this morning by an earthquake measuring 4.9 degrees and a depth of 14.47 km, followed by 80 aftershocks that lasted for more than six hours.
