Tabuk, Red Sea Global (RSG) said in a press release issued today it will open Shura Links, a golf course and clubhouse on Shura Island, in the Red Sea, in 2025.
According to the release, Shura Links is a “unique golf destination that boasts Saudi Arabia’s first 18-hole golf course and stunning views of the marina and the surrounding Red Sea”. With the assistance of leading environmental consultants, the golf course will be developed in line with the highest standards of sustainability, the release said, by reducing water consumption and coming up with innovative ways of reusing irrigation water, which will ultimately contribute to the improvement of natural habitats.

RSG said that Foster and Partners designed the clubhouse, which follows the overall Coral Bloom design concept on Shura Island, which Foster and Partners also designed. The clubhouse takes inspiration from the flora and fauna found uniquely in Saudi Arabia.
The course has been designed in partnership with world-renowned golf architect Brian Curley, the designer behind the world’s largest golf facility, Mission Hills Golf Club.
The par 72 Shura Links course is 6,858 meters long and offers multiple tees at each hole. Every hole has been designed to provide maximum variety, playability, and memorability. Holes four to seven are located next to the coastline, while holes 14 to 18 each enjoy a backdrop of open sea or channel views. The clubhouse s
erves as the backdrop to the 18th hole, which finishes below it.
The course designers have made the course beginner friendly by incorporating width off the tee. However, it also includes challenging features that make it suitable for tournament play, thus opening up the possibility of hosting major events in the future.
According to the release, the course features a two-acre putting course that the designers anticipate will be “one of the best in the world.”
