Role of Bahrain youth in supporting national development praised

Investing in young Bahrainis and supporting their projects is key to achieving the UN sustainable development goals, said the Minister of Youth Affairs Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi.

She paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, hailing royal directives and the national policies incorporated in the Government Action Plan, which contributed to empowering young Bahrainis.

The minister made the statement as the Kingdom of Bahrain joins other nations to International Youth Day 2023, which is observed worldwide on August 12 under the theme “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World”.

In the statement, she commended the role played by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, in supporting youth and engaging them in build the future of Bahrain.

“Bahrain has based its policy on investing in youth development in a modern, practical way”, she said, noting that Bahraini youth represent partners in development.

She underling efforts to provide opportunities for young Bahrainis to contribute to the growth of the national economy through their small and medium enterprises

She highlighted the ministry’s programs and initiatives that help young people achieve international goals, especially with regard to this year’s theme, through a package of schemes implemented by the Bahrain Scientific Center to achieve the goals of sustainable development, which is considered the first of its kind.
