Sacred Walls of the Prophet’s Mosque Resonate with the Prayers of over 20 Million Worshippers

Madinah: A profound sense of communion and spirituality pervades the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah during the holy month of Ramadan, a time when this revered site witnesses a surge in visitors.

This Ramadan, in the first 20 days alone, over 20 million worshippers were recorded at the mosque. On the 29th night of Ramadan, when the Quran recitation was completed, there was a particularly significant influx, with nearly 400,000 worshippers seeking blessings within the mosque’s hallowed walls.

Despite the unprecedented numbers and dynamic movement of worshippers, a remarkable sense of brotherliness and piety prevails at the mosque. Young and old, individuals with special needs alongside those offering assistance, and dedicated young volunteers all gathered for a unified purpose: to pray to Allah for forgiveness and acceptance of good deeds.

In and around the Prophet’s Mosque there is continuous activity. Essential services such as provision of food, water stations, and preparations of prayer spaces are continuou
sly provided.

This spirit of communion and desire to help are characteristic of the Ramadan experience at the mosque.

A remarkable number of volunteers, 7,934, individuals of diverse ages and both genders, dedicate themselves to facilitating the movement of worshippers and ensuring a smooth experience for all visitors. Their invaluable contribution is particularly crucial on nights experiencing exceptionally high concentrations, such as the 29th night of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr prayer.
