Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia continues to support Iraq at all levels

Riyadh, Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.

Al-Bilad and Okaz newspapers reported in their editorials that the Saudi-Iraqi relations are witnessing an important stage of joint cooperation in all fields. This represents the keenness of the wise leadership in the two countries to strengthen and promote common interests.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been keen to support the security, sovereignty and stability of the Republic of Iraq. This is in addition to preserving its gains and strengthening relations through the outcomes of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council. The 4th session of Saudi-Iraqi Coordinating Council also resulted in the establishment of a Saudi-Iraqi joint fund that has a capital estimated at USD 3 billion, as a contribution from Saudi Arabia in promoting investment in Iraq’s economic fields for the benefit of the Saudi and Iraqi economies, the newspaper added.

Within the same context, Saudi Arabia’s participation in Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership embodies the government’s keenness to support Iraq in order to achieve further development and stability.

During the conference, Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s leadership spares no effort in supporting Iraq at all levels. Saudi Arabia will continue to work to enhance Iraq’s security and stability, and preserve its institutions and gains, he added.

In another context, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia enters with determination a new era of modern technologies.

In order to achieve development and modernity, Saudi Arabia launches programs and initiatives to achieve its goals. In this regard, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday announced the launch of a package of qualitative initiatives and technological programs with a total value of nearly SAR4 billion, the biggest technological launch of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa. This thing affirms Saudi Arabia’s serious desire to reach a high level of technical excellence, the newspaper said.

Saudi Arabia’s aspirations in this regard are in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which announced plans and programs that result in a new generation of innovators and technicians, the newspaper added.
